Gents,I am not able to convert the .fcb file when dropping it into the convert binary object.exe, am useing win 7 64 bit with the r178_b114 tool, after unpacking the hd_patch file I see that the patch_hd_unpack folder is read only and all the sub folders are the same. I am the admin, the security tab shows allow for all permissions, have tried the take ownership of folder and the advanced feature in security also tried unchecking the attribute read only and apply to sub folders, no love any ideas, thks obtw, the convertxml.exe tool works fine no problem with that, go figure definitely not willy proof, as they say at work

I assume you want to modify the oasisstring. You need a different tool for that.
Right now I am working from my laptop since my main computer with all the FC4 stuff is in repair. PJ should be able to help you out.

Willy try re-downloading the Gibbed Dunia tools - my old version stopped working for some files but a new download worked just fine. My old version must have got corrupted in some way.

Just to confirm Willy - that fcb file should open to an xml when dropped onto the Gibbed.Dunia2.ConvertBinaryObject.exe. The version of Dunia2Tools for Far Cry 4 should be Release 179, Build 115.www.dropbox.com/s/wc1ie42xlojulyk/dunia2-r179_b115.zip?dl=0Just delete the old one and reinstall as Jimbo suggests.

I had similar problems in the past, just unpacking the dunia files should solve that problem.

Bought an Acer laptop a few years ago and have hardly ever used it - so now my other half keeps telling me 'It was just a waste of money' - and I have to agree with her.

as i'm still at work just had another ? about the .ark.fcb files, now that i have ricks tools sorted out i can finally see the entityarchetypeslibrary folder, when opening i see the .fcb files and some ark.fcb files if i remember right, might not have the nomenclature correct. if i wanted to change the characteristics of say 1 weapon could i change it and reconvert it and add it into the entityarchetypeslibrary folder and repack it up or is there something else that needs to be done, thks in advance, hope this makes some sense

There are also just .fcb files but those are in other directories.

Willy - do you have Janne's EntityArchetypesLibrary collection of 9000 ark.fcb's converted to xml format? From here? It's possible I missed mention of it, quickly reading the posts here, but these are pretty well essential if you want to play with guns.. pj Edit: Here's a few pics..

There is another important thing concerning FCB files, you can`t revonvert them.
When you have an XML file and reconvert it you get a readable format, with fcb flies you get only BinHex gibberish. So always backup your original, readable fcb files. You will also loose all annotations by converting.
