Hello, I'm trying to create a very simple mod that changes the fNearFOVDegrees and fIronsightNearFOVDegrees values of the Far Cry Primal's weapons. I've used Dunia Tools to unpack the patch.fat and patch.dat files and made the changes I want to make, but I don't know how to repackage these changes so that they work in-game. Whenever I repackage these changes into patch.fat and patch.dat I notice that the file sizes are much larger and the game crashes on startup. Is there another pair of .fat and .dat files I can put my entityarchetypeslibrary folder into and get a successful result, or is Far Cry Primal modding just not possible?

Yeah, I'm using those tools. Whenever I repack the patch folder with Fino.Dunia2.Handler.exe the game crashes at startup.

Some files extracted by current tools are bound to crash the game if you repack them. It's just an unfortunate situation for Primal.

The only optimal way to go with mods in Primal:
Rename patch.dat/fat as patch_sound.fat/dat Include only the files you've changed and repack them as patch Run the game

Thank you, but unfortunately I wasn't able to complete this mod since there are a few .fcb files in the entityarchetypeslibrary folder which won't convert with Gibbed.Dunia2.ConvertBinaryObject.exe. It just so happens that these are all of the .fcb files for the bow and sling weapons.
I was able to edit them as .fcb files and get the bows to use a fNearFOVDegrees value of 110, but this somehow also made them incapable of nocking arrows.
So basically, the mod worked for all of the melee weapons, but none of the ranged weapons and I was unwilling to publish in that state.

They are corrupted from the unpacking process (most of the data is still intact). I guess you can recreate the xmls and convert them back to fcb for them to work properly.

Sure, but I wouldn't know how to go about doing that since there is a lot of information and variables inside those files I'd need to see.
I was able to use the Far Cry 4 bow as a template for the starting bow in Primal, but it was essentially just a re-skin of the Far Cry 4 bow and far from ideal.
