In bontainer's mod, after learning the shop and craft modding and getting it where I wanted, everything was perfect. However, out of nowhere while playing a long session, nobody's lips move anymore outside of cutscenes and I am getting skill points every 15 minutes again. What would cause this?

Lipsynch is a known problem, caused by any changes to the oasisstring. It contains ALL text of the whole game, and changing it causes an automatic loss of lip synchronisation. In regard to my mod this means either new weapon and ammo names or moving lips.
PJ is working on something but it has to be done with a hex editor and so is extremely time consuming.

The issue is that - with the available tools we have - including our collective "brain-power" - we still cannot open oasis to read or change the data without losing NPC LipSynch. The data compression function used is based on a dictionary, Craytose, and that dictionary is the original oasis file. It contains just over 23,000 pointers to the individual sentences spoken by the NPC's and almost all of the screen wording. The (recent) good news is that we can change what gets placed on the screen, but only if it already exists in the original dictionary, and it has to be done using a Hex editor. This is how I can remove most all of the propmts while keeping LipSynch. Bontainer's mods however, like my earlier personal mods, and some of JR's mods - have Shop screen changes - "1 round of 5.56mm" instead of "50 rounds of ammo for the AR", and those words/sentences have to be "hand edited" by unpacking oasis, changing the xml text, and then repacking it - and as soon as that happens - Boom! No LipSynch. I have the (MS Visual Suite) tools, but don't have a sufficiently in-depth knowledge of C++, nor of compression techniques, to be able to modify Dunia2 Tools so that it will open and re-pack the file without changing those pointers. Even the simple act of unpacking and repacking causes the loss of lipsynch for all NPC's other than the main character cut-scenes. I should add, too - my existing (and limited) knowledge of this process could not have been gained without the initial and on-going support and knowledge transfer from JRavens himeself. He has done a prodigious amount of research and grunt work with this file system, and has been where I am now: in the same light - all of this pales in comparison of the smarts of the guys that actually wrote and modified the original tools. That history can be read in the Ubi FC3 and 4 PC Discussion forums. Unfortunately, I think they either succumbed to Ubisoft's penchant to patch, patch, patch, breaking every mod, and causing the tools to need the same upgrading, and so they gave up - OR - Ubisoft has caused them to mysteriously disappear.... As my Grandmother used to say - "Nothing is ever easy".

Hmm, I guess I literally didn't pay attention to the lipping then after getting everything set haha. What about the XP and skill point thing? All I have done is change a few things in CDC...the shop file, 4EF...craft file, and the "Ajay's Movement" from the 1531... that bontainer loaded up on that thread. It took me 20k plus to get a skill point, and then, on the same play session I got them after like 2500 twice. Maybe it had to finish the 20k level for the 2500 ones to pick up, after I had messed something up in those files? I know that originally something like that had to happen to kick in the 20k XP for bontainer's mod. Where's the XP located so I can have a look? Thanks guys for the info thus far!
