Howdy JR and all the rest of you guys (I think? are there any girls?)
I'm pretty sure the last time I was around here was when you had just recently moved off of the old site. Boy, those were some gawd awful forums there. These look much nicer. Anyway, just wanted to say Hi and see how things were going, and how everyone was doing these days.
JRavens, did you end up getting some use out of those parts I sent your way? Hope so. =)

As you can tell from the dates on most of the posts...........................the crickets have taken over. We're waiting and hoping for a more mod/modder friendly FarCry 5................but not holding our breath!

Heya Brad! Nice to see you around again. Yes as Flanker says it's a bit quiet here these days. No new Far Cry mods in quite some time. The new Far Cry Primal game has switched up the compression scheme of it's files and in classic Ubisoft fashion we are once again at square one with trying to mod it. Unfortunately Rick/Gibbed has not updated his tool to unpack .dat files so we are kind of at a standstill with trying to do anything on the mod front of that series. Most folks have migrated to Fallout 4 which has (I'm sure you know) a HUGE modding community and is very, very modder friendly. I personally recently just acquired Homefront the Revolution which is cut from the very same cloth as games like Far Cry and Dying Light - i.e. it's a FPS shooter set in an open world. I've only played a few hours of it so it's hard for me to judge it, but overall it feels like a decent entry in that genre. There have been better games of course, but also far worse ones. Not sure how moddable that game will (or won't) be. The parts were wonderful and I can't thank you enough again! They have brought me endless hours of joy in trying out these newer games. It makes such a difference to have a computer able to handle the CPU and graphic strain this generation of games brings. Feel free to hang out, post, read or what not. Most all the "old timers" from the previous forums still check in every so often here although we only post sparsely. I could never bring myself to close the forums down, but without a new influx of mods things have gotten a little... lackluster of late. Hoping I or someone else will find the time and right game to bring around some new mods and life to these chat boards -Jeff

I can only add to Jeffs comment. FC4 moding came to a standstill because we found out what could be found out (no thanks to UBI) and it somehow pertered out. I have to admit that I am slowly starting to forget more and more how to mod FC (mainly due to age....).
And FO4 is much more modding friendly and i have always been a huge fan of Bethesda games, ever since Arena or Terminator (btw. the first FPS that featured a M16).
As Jeff, I also check the forum every other day but my only posts concern FO4 stuff nowadays.
