Frames look about right for my 1070 at ultra on 1080p... mine might be a wee lower even...
The problem is I've found the benchmarking tool while great doesn't really reflect the game. The game seems to be loading a ton more assets then the benchmarking tool does so I'm not sure how much I trust it :/
I've dropped down to very high at this point and still struggling with my stutter issue though it's LOADS better with the new Nvidia and GRW patches. Still present though just down to a slight "hitch" instead of a full 1-2 second pause. Still very annoying I can't sort it out... going to try playing with vsynch again to see if I can find some combo to eliminate it.

Aaahhhhhh!!! I take it your monitor isn't G Sync compliant? Any possibility of borrowing a G Sync monitor from a friend and seeing if that smooths things out, or improves frame rate for you?

OMG, I've just now learned that there are specific monitors built for gaming purposes, and perhaps not having one can impact how your AAA titled game plays ... Just great; can bury a great gaming GPU inside the desktop w/o the wife really knowing anything about it, but it's a whole other story should a new monitor suddenly show up, for no apparent reason ...

Yeah I'm on a flatscreen Sanyo but definately not G Sync... I mean it feels more like it's a CPU thing (the game hitching) than the frames dipping, but I dunno maybe. No friends with monitors to borrow I'm afraid. I tried to defrag the drive but don't think it's done much of nothing. I'll keep playing with it... not sure what else to try. I hear you Mike. It's getting pretty crazy when you need a whole new setup (monitor and all!) just to play games. I don't think I can justify that one even to my selfish self... Maybe I'll get me a cheaper SSD and try putting it on there and see what's what. I really don't want to plunk down a couple hundred more for a better processor or monitor. Not unless every other game I try this summer forces me too.

I made a mistake in my last post (which I was winging from memory); I should have asked what rez you're playing at; not if you're on a G Sync compliant monitor. The reason I incorrectly asked (about the G Sync); is I recently read a review of a Digital Storm system (who I bought my comp from) in the current issue of Maximum PC. The system blew out their gaming benchmarks................except on Far Cry Primal (FCP/GRW; similar game engines?). MPC's Primal FPS @ 1080P was only a couple frames better than their bench mark system's, but when they switched to 1440 and 4K the DS system got much better than the test bench marks. Leading to their theory that with some games; their SLI 1080s actually worked better @ higher rezs. BTW: Mike, they make specific monitors for AMD/Raqdeon Freesync tech too..................and you don't get the god awful lime green accents on the monitor!

Ahhh so I play at 1920 x 1080, but apparently this Sanyo 32" only supports 60hz (which is what I have it set too) I think we worked out that GRW is actually the "Forge engine" or somesuch that Assassin Creed games use and not the Dunia engine so it's probably different than FCP, BUT it wouldn't surprise me if it needs 120Hz (well...actually it was released on PS4 as well so *technically* it should be able to run at 60Hz without issue but let's be honest Ubi has a terrible track record on new releases and performance.) I know if I play on a 120Hz BF4 server I get a missing frames desync icon that pops up (cause I'm displaying at half that )
