Before you start this, please make a backup of the files patch_hd patch_hd.fat They are located in your far cry 4/data_win32 directory. If anything goes wrong you should be able do undo any damage with these two files. You will need the gibbed dunia2 tools, the latest release is dunia2-r179_b115. You can download them from the nexus forum www.nexusmods.com/farcry3/mods/86/?Unpack them into a folder and open it, open the subdirectory bin and keep it open! Now open the far cry 4/data_win32 folder in a new window. Drag the file patch_hd into the window you left open (bin) and move it over the Gibbed.Dunia2.Unpack executable. A folder in your far cry 4/data_win32 with the name patch_hd_unpack will be generated. Now copy any data you want to integrate into that folder, e.g. if its Ceano sights copy the folder graphics into the patch_hd_unpack directory. Now drag the patch_hd_unpack directory over the Gibbed.Dunia2.Pack executable in the bin window you left open, as a result two new files will appear in the far cry 4/data_win32 directory. patch_hd_unpack patch_hd_unpack.fat Delete the patch_hd and patch_hd.fat files and rename the two new files with the names of the deleted files. Done.

Actually, while you're here, is there any way to make the nights darker?
Managed to figure out the dunia gibbed tool set, not given the game a test run yet but hopefully it will have worked.
Thanks for the help!

I haven't messed with modding FC (3 or 4) in well over a year. I want to create a newer FrankenMod made from your Open World v1.10/Immersion/Easier Crafting..........and Highest Weapon Damage, No Eagles, and Open North loose files. I lost my copy of the b115 tool set last July when my notebook HDD died. I've DLed a copy of the FC3 tool set from the link above; then extracted the contents of the RAR into a file of it's own. You refer to the tool set as the, "dunia2-r179_b115" (which is what I remember using for both FC3 and FC 4 back when)..............however, the file name of the tool set from the link is, "dunia2r179-86-r179". I assume whoever uploaded the file to the Nexus just renamed the file for what ever reason (the extracted contents look like the b115 tool set to the best of my recollection). I also recall instructions in the Ubi/FC 4 forum to the effect we were supposed to rename one, or more files/folders in the FC 3 Project folder to FC 4? Anyone know if that's still true, and exactly what files/folders they were? I already had my patch_hd.dat and patch_hd.fat files backed up for when I installed my current FrankenMod. UPDATE: Apparently technical considerations beyond my meager skill level..............................require me to actually put the loose files in the CORRECT location for the packing tool to work! I'm off to see if the game will start and run with my new FrankenMod!

Thanks! I snagged a copy of the Modded_files.7z...........I'd lost your weapons spreadsheet when my HDD crashed last July; so it was nice to get another copy!

Have I ever mentioned I HATE computers and modding? After a LOT of tinkering with Bon's b115 tool set, the r179 tool set I got in the link above, and a different copy of the b115 tool set from an old post in the FC 4 forum; I cobbled a tool set together that "seems" to be working "sort of". I used the b115 tool set from the FC4 Forum, and copy and pasted the FC 4 Projects folder from Bon's b115 tool set into it. This hybrid too set unpacks and repacks the patch_hd_unpack folder OK. I used the Open World/Immersion/Easier Crafting v1.10.1 mod, with the highest weapons damage option, open north option, and no eagles option folded in. I started the game using my old FankenMod game save (unlocked south--still have to play the Willis missions, then Key to the North). I've made it into the North OK by sneaking in under the King's Bridge (or what ever it's called), so I know that's working OK. I'm not getting prompts at doors and objects I can use, and I don't have to press and hold keys so those are working OK too. Weapons damage seems to have folded into the main mod OK this time also. Did I mention I hate computers and modding?

Flashing can be deactivated in the game menu, but I don`t remember how Ubi called it. JR left it out after Ubisoft incorporated the option in one of their patches.

To unpack The Patch Files, You Need To Set The Current File To: Far Cry 4, To Get The Best Result, I´ve Never Had Any Issues So Far With This
This Is A Must When Packing/UnPacking The Entities ( Aka. Ark ) Because Dunia, Don´t like The Far Cry 3 Method It Is Possible But More Then Most You Will Get Errors Like That One
Dunia .Dir -> projects -> Current.txt -> Far Cry 4

To unpack The Patch Files, You Need To Set The Current File To: Far Cry 4, To Get The Best Result, I´ve Never Had Any Issues So Far With This This Is A Must When Packing/UnPacking The Entities ( Aka. Ark ) Because Dunia, Don´t like The Far Cry 3 Method It Is Possible But More Then Most You Will Get Errors Like That One Dunia .Dir -> projects -> Current.txt -> Far Cry 4 Yes, that's how I got that last tool set to work; by taking Bon's FC4 Projects folder and installing in the 115 tool set from the Ubi/FC 4 forum post. It seems to be working fine now, as I'm just using the unpack and pack tools to combine bits and pieces of various mods/add ons to come up with a combo I like. Not sure if it's even fair to call it modding. Speaking of which...............no matter what parts I put into my FrankenMod..............some parts work in game, and some don't! Gggggrrrrr!!!!!! As an alternative to my first combo (described above); I folded the Open North and No Eagles into my original FrankenMod..................darn North is still closed! I'll work on it some more tonight................HONEY! Have you seen my cursing dictionary??!! Thanks, Bon! I thought there was supposed to be an option to shut off the flashing objects...................didn't see it in options though..................I'll look again. UPDATE: Think I may have a working FrankenMod II finally. I took the Open World v1.10.1 and folded in a single folder from FankenMod I, plus the No Eagles and Open North options. I've got the Immersion Mod bits working (and nothing is glowing or flashing in game!), along with Easier Crafting/Open Skills, Bon's "original" weapons specs from my FankenMod 1 appear to be working (UPDATE: they're not! ), I can get into the north OK, and I haven't been bothered by nearby eagles too much yet........................still testing. I did notice a couple of visual/GFX anomalies as I was skulking around in the river bed under the King's Bridge and a bit beyond it. There was a pronounced bass noise (like a muted boom) and a faint red glow on screen, in lieu of the usual turn back on screen warning, when I entered the north. Afterwards I could see a once every few seconds pulsating faint red glow on some of the clouds and terrain features?? And, once as I was running upstream I noticed a ghost image of the wire frame model of the MP5 I was carrying; slightly offset to the right. Anyone else ever get any of that under similar conditions?

>some parts work in game, and some don't! Gggggrrrrr!!!!!! Welcome to my world! Finally someone else can share in the insanity that is Far Cry (the truth is we really never made it off that Jungle island as this is all a drug and malaria filled dream sequence ) >there was a pronounced bass noise (like a muted boom) and a faint red glow on screen OK that's odd. It sounds more like the work around we had before where you could go out of bounds, but there was a really long timer... the domino file from the Open World mod should have superseded that... unless... is this on an existing save? Maybe the open world only kicks in on a new game. Although I thought I tested it on several different pre-existing saves. Hmmm something shady going on there. I'm suspecting that parts of your FrakenMod are getting skipped or left out for one reason or another when you repack OR something is being overwritten. I would dump in the domino file(s) from open world last, but ONLY those since you don't want to overwrite the good stuff. If memory serves (yeah right!) there should be a loose file in fact you can grab from the Nexus page for Open World mod for unlocking the north. Throw that in last and it should (fingers crossed) do the trick. >And, once as I was running upstream I noticed a ghost image of the wire frame model of the MP5 I was carrying; slightly offset to the right. OK I have experienced that before as well in the streams near the beginning of the game (right after Crab with Pagan and the truck crash). I just thought it was my graphics card... now I'm wondering if it's a graphics thing or something specific to the mod(s)...

Yes, I've continued on from my last FrankenMod 1 save. Thought about starting from scratch................damn if that doesn't sound painful though (I hate the canned main campaign missions--mostly)! Yes, the Open North was the optional file I got from the Open World Mod on the Nexus................I either folded it in next to last, or last.
Looks like everything is working OK with the exception of the ballistics from Bon's original version weapons tweak, which I'd installed in FrankenMod I, are NOT working. Damn it! The ballistics are the reason I folded the patch_HD_unpack/_UNKNOWN/game files from FrankenMod I into the same folder/s in your Open World/Immersion/Easier Crafting v 1.10.1.
My reason being I "thought" that's where Bon's tweaked weapon files were living; in the original Immersion + Improved Weapons Damage mod from back when. Either my memory was wrong, or it's an aspect of the repacking that didn't take on this try.
Which brings me to......................where the bleep are the weapons files located in FC 4? i.e. What folder/file path. I performed a complete tweak/overhaul of FC 3 ballistics back in the day; actually started one for FC 4 right after it first came out---then gave up as the scope of an FC 4 weapons tweak became apparent. I'm willing to take another stab at it now. What tools will I need; if any beyond the gibbed/Dunia 2 r179/b115 tool set? As I reacall.............I had a problem with converting .ark to .xml files, and was told I simply needed to edit the .suffix with a text editor (i.e. notepad, or notepad ++).
An additional issue is the weapon files in FC 3 were named in plain English (i.e. MP 5, ACE 52, etc) while those in FC 4 are numerical sequences. does anyone have a listing of which numerical sequence = which weapon? TY!

Thanks for the link! The weapons stats in that .zip file were close/identical to your original weapon tweaks stats.............., and it looks as if this last cobbled together tool set I'm using successfully installed the weapons (as they're working in game)! +1! Hey, JR! Are you sure you didn't install extra Tiger spawns in the open north files? For my first unlocked tower in the north, I took the one S of Shikharpur. I took the tower fairly easy by ing in; head shotting two of the three Royal Guards, and shanking the last from behind. I shut the broadcast down; then discovered why it would have been nice if you'd posted an advisory with the Open North file at the Nexus, for users to bring extra cat food. Prior to leaving the tower; I used the mortar sight to scan the surrounding area; spotting a tiger skulking in one of the entrance drives. I flamed him with the mortar; then exited the tower. Walking towards the nearby gyro copter; I hear a loud tiger growl just beyond the small ground rise in front of me. I peak over the rise; shoot tiger 2 in the head with my 700 then get scratched up pretty good while finishing his *** off with the Khukri. Another loud growl just to my right beyond a couple bushes announces tiger 3.....................as the kids say................WTF??!! I sprint back into the tower, scramble to the first ledge only to simultaneously hear a VERY ANGRY tiger roar RIGHT BEHIND me, AND remember cats can climb! The rest of you may want to note that thrashing about in a panicked manner, while flailing ineffectually with a knife is a marginal anti tiger technique at best. I survived with a thread of health; finally make it down to the copter; only to see TIGER #4 chasing two Royal Guardsmen around in the main road below---they appeared to be having about as much fun as I had. . Four tigers, in one location at the same time......................seriously??!!

Wow that's crazy! No I never adjusted tigers (at least not intentionally). In fact random animal spawns are generally supposed to be 100 meters apart... not sure what is up that area or if you just got really, really unlucky with the random number gods
