On the Nexus site... Aaaah. found it. Thanks - I hadn't even seen that before. Something new every day.
I like it even more now. Planning starts to become important, doesn't it!

3,300 views and 157 downloads... not bad, eh? It's a pretty good mod Bontainer. I finished off the last of the four full-strength fortresses this morning, using the only the X-Cross, the AK and the SVD: never did this before. I had got rid of the "Out of Bounds" and all of the "North" messages, all except the "999" timer - and even that goes away after some time period (which I wasn't able to track, as being too busy...), plus modded for only three holster slots. The North is hard! Hunting for animals and ammo is definitely much more serious too, when it's not available in the store! The knife throw and X-Cross (as the (my) preferred single-hand weapon) are more essential, too - care being taken with accuracy, silence and minimal use.
I like the Buzzer, for the great free mobility that it gives, but so much of the game - so many opportunities - are missed or ignored in the "need" to get to the next Outpost or mission target. Same with the "Beam me up, Scotty" transporter between captured outposts. I'm going to do a bit of testing...
Love it!

Yes, absolutely, I played for some time without even looking at the quests (after finishing part one), taking all the towers and looking for chests to loot, to get my favourite weapons (xbow and A52). Have no idea how to get rid of the buzzer (at least of the one at Khilana bazaar), going by foot or by car is so much more fun - of course you always have the choice NOT to use the Buzzer, but thats not the same thing. Also deactivating the teleport would be great.
One possible way (just guessing) would be to get rid of the complete map complex (no map no jump targets) - perhaps it might be possible to take the map part out of the screen where crafting and loot bag are located.

OMG, I did it and it was SOOOO easy...
Just delete the lines
<Binding input="CONTROL_A" action="press" signal="worldmap_fast_travel" priority="Menu"/> <Binding input="CONTROL_LEFT_MOUSE_BUTTON" action="release" signal="worldmap_fast_travel" priority="Menu"/>
in 4881E4C778199500.XML
and you can`t fast travel anymore.
