I'm not into the story either, but it was so bad in FC3 that it drew my attention, lol.

Wow! Thx. I absolutely WILL join Patreon and donate, though probably not till Monday.
This will make the game so much better and I know it takes years to develop the skills to do what you do, and I appreciate it!

I posted a reply, a "thankyou", for sure, but it's not showing yet....
In any case, this is awesome!
But, I apologize, I've searched a bit, but can't find instructions...where do I put the .dat and .fat file?

Installed and working great. This game just got 100% better! Awesome! Glad to hear it. I'll try to write a How-To in the future for folks that are new to Far Cry mods. Enjoy

Loving your mod. Thanks!
Problem is, the game is still too easy, lol!
I'd love some more restrictions if you have time at some point. I'm also very interested in "modding lessons". I joined your Patreon, but I'd be happy to pay you a one time fee for lessons, as well.
You made the M79 pull from the rocket pool so it only has 10 rounds. Could it pull from the mine or c4 pool so it only has 6? Can all the grenade launchers do the same? There is just way too much access to boom-boom as it is.
Can the buzzers be restricted? I'd even be fine with them being gone from the game if that's the only option. I was thinking maybe only one buzzer anywhere on the map. At the Ghale Homestead or an airport, maybe.
Could the buzzer be made realistically fragile? Yesterday my buzzer fell off a tower and survived the fall. Then I lifted it off and, as usually, did some serious tree trimming on the way up, with no consequence. It would be cool if the buzzer-rotors touched ANYTHING, that was the end of the buzzer. Or a fall or hard landing is the end too.
I suspect this one is not possible or too involved, but maybe the buzzer could be reliant on a "fuel" source? Maybe an extended syringe? Some mechanism that forces you to be frugal... The need to craft or buy something expensive, or the need to stop at a base for re-fills...
So, seriously restricted GLs and a fragile buzzer (or no buzzer at all) and I think this game would be perfect!
Also, here's some FYI feedback about how things act with no fast travel, imxp. The shrine and tree at the Ghale house have not spawned money since I started using "no fast-travel". I suspect fast-travel is what triggers their spawn. This is a NON-issue for me, it was a tiny amount of cash anyway. The buzzer, garden, knives, molotovs, and armor at Ghale houshold DO re-spawn very frequently and, obviously, without the trigger of fast-travel.

Money doesn't re-spawn in the Far Cry games (3 and 4). At least they never have for me. That of course also goes for any loot chest. Whether there is fast-travel or not, should not have any impact.
Again, in my experiences.

Mike, The shrine and tree at the Ghale house are supposed to respawn cash, they did a couple times before I installed the mod, but haven't spawned since. Again, I don't care at all about this, it's only tiny amounts of cash, I was just giving JRavens some feedback.

The buzzer, garden, knives, molotovs, and armor at Ghale houshold DO re-spawn very frequently and, obviously, without the trigger of fast-travel. Hey thanks so much! And thanks for joining the Patreon It might be hard for me with my schedule right now to do personalized lessons... but let me see how things shape up in a week or two. >Could it pull from the mine or c4 pool so it only has 6? Ummm... theoretically yes. I would have to test it because C4 and Mines are considered "throwable gadgets" and they are a slightly different set of assets, but I *think* (don't know for sure) that there ammo pools work the same way so... a pretty heavy "maybe". Which would you rather pull from C4 or mines -or- would it make more sense (thematically) to pull from the hand grenade pool? >Can the buzzers be restricted? This is kind of tricky. There are several buzzers that hand placed in the game (like the Ghale homestead one you mention) so they are sort of "cooked" into the map and you can't really do anything to them. I could definitely remove all the random ones, but you would still encounter a dozen or so throughout the game. Previous saves would likely still have buzzers in them also since the game saves an awful lot of data... >I'd even be fine with them being gone from the game if that's the only option That is an option as well. I could simply replace their .ark with something else (like a quad). I have NO idea what repercussions this would cause in the game however. There is at least one (probably more) mission where you are expected to use a buzzer to chase "Pagan Min" in a buzzer. I have no idea if that mission can be completed in another vehicle. The game seems very picky about win conditions in several of the missions >Could the buzzer be made realistically fragile? I haven't had any success with this but I'll try looking at it again. Again no idea what side effects could occur. For example a random shot from some far off enemy could blow up your buzzer under your seat with no way to prevent it, etc. We just have no idea how the game is programmed until you test and often it doesn't work out as you would hope (I can't even think of everything that might happen... maybe touching water could cause an explosion or going to high or too fast, and so on etc. etc. etc. >but maybe the buzzer could be reliant on a "fuel" source? That one unfortunately seems impossible. There is no coding for a "fuel" mechanism and no way that I know of to hook into something like that (syringes have very specific things they can and can't influence). >The shrine and tree at the Ghale house have not spawned money since I started using "no fast-travel". Ah thanks for letting me know. I had no idea they were tied to fast travel in any way. Bummer, but like you said the game literally throws money at players every chance it gets.

Again, I don't care at all about this, it's only tiny amounts of cash, I was just giving JRavens some feedback. That's indeed interesting, to say the least. I can fire up Jeff's OW mod and see if there's any re-spawning, plus pull up a vanilla game save to test same.
UPDATE:
In the OW mod traveling to Ghale's homestead did not produce money re-spawning. Nor did any re-spawn in the vanilla game. This was using a gyrocopter to reach the location, not fast travel, in both tests.
Don't know what to say, I've simply not had money re-spawn in my experiences playing the game, either in vanilla or modded.

No worries on the lessons. That's kind of a tall order, I know. I probably wouldn't have a big need to do any modding myself, I'm just trying to make this game more challenging and I think getting rid of fast-travel, most or all buzzers, and most of the GL ammo goes a long way towards ramping up the difficulty to where I want it. Assuming it's straightforward to do, when you have time, if you wanted to put together 2 mods, one with no fast travel, ALL GLs limited to 10 rounds, and NO buzzers, and one with no fast travel, ALL GLs limited to 10 rounds, and ONLY buzzers that are "cooked" into the map, I would be more than happy to test them through an entire campaign and see what happens at any quests that seem to need a buzzer. I would, of course, start a new campaign. Currently, however, I'm at 61% and I do remember chasing Pagan with a buzzer. Seemed impossible without a buzzer, BUT, if it is only 1 or 2 missions that "require" a buzzer it may be fine with only cooked in buzzers if you bring one with you. OR, if I were to get stuck absolutely NEEDING a buzzer, I could swap out files, do the mission then swap back. Cludgy, yes, but no big deal to me, and I could find out, to some degree, how the lack of buzzers impacts game-play.

Chuck -
Regarding Chasing Pagan - it's of course easier via the buzzer, however the mission only requires you to stay within a certain distance. So it can be done via one of the spawned vehicles. He'd take you all the way to the KEO Logistics location if you don't catch him, and stop there for a final fight - with plenty of NPCs to deal with.
