How about this; how many perk points can one obtain once free of the tutorial without generating one resistance point?
I'm trying to come up with some purpose for at least exploring the map. Had hoped that liberating outposts would be a nice play through challenge with the latest Far Cry, but doing that also leads you down that horrible path we are so familiar with.

I would go with the option I mentioned before where you basically stick to Dutch's island. You can load up quite a few there and it's centrally located so theoretically for the very hard to acquire perks you could balance between the three regions so as to minimize RP impact. Apparently you need to avoid killing cult VIPs, rescuing hostages, destroying any convoys and so forth. Maybe engage outposts to work on specific perks (i.e. takedown from below, long range kills, etc), but always retreat and make sure you do not complete the outpost so as not to move the resistance meter?

I was thinking along the lines of a personal SP challenge one would/might attempt. All good points about how to avoid RPs naturally. Another challenge would be to avoid reaching the first RP level in each region as you gain perk points. Cult VIPs I believe give the lowest RP (50?), so when you need a headshot from any specific weapon, go for it.

Valid options for minimizing main story advancement; but they leave you in the Catch 22 of needing to unlock "levels of resistance" to unlock better weapons. As goofy (non logical) as GRW's weapon obtaining plan was................it's wwaayy better than FC 5's.

I'm so used to working with different in-game rules using Ziggy's modded FC3, that using only what the game provides within the world itself is part of the challenge I've enjoyed. Naturally once a level is reached, then basically the challenge is over, and either try it again with different tactics (or play style) or change the challenge a bit and continue playing.
