One of my all time favorite series!
All three editions of the first series were quite mod friendly and very atmospheric.......then there was the hysterically bad NPC dialogue (grammar and such) and facial animations/lip syncing!
In my book; any game that features packs of ravenous mutant hamsters rocks!

Yeah S.T.A.L.K.E.R. was great. One of the only games to really creep me out just with atmosphere and noises. Getting towards the Chernobyl sarcophagus near the end had me on pins and needles. Hell just moving through the zone on a good day with all those packs of mutant dog things and the weird anomalies kept you on your toes. Those guys know how to make creepy and unnerving atmospheres. Really enjoyed those games back in the day despite being clunky movement, buggy and that translation... man that Russian to English conversion wow yeah you are right about that LOL. Nostalgia.
Very cool. Too bad it looks like it will be years out. They are being all CD Projekt Red about it "it's ready when it's ready".
Then again waiting for years for a game was a thing back in the 80's and 90's. No open betas or "early release" games for us kiddos. (Hell you were lucky to get one or two patches a YEAR after the game came out... whole websites were built around hosting patches for games... ahhh nostalgia)
