Both mods, FC4 Attachments Mod by jvarnes and FC 4 NPC weapon variety and ammo mod by wongyuhua have the same file, thus I can't put both of them in data_win32. Is there a way to fix this or I need to play with only one mod?
There is a way to combine the two mods, but it is time consuming. What you have to do is:
Unpack both the mods into separate folders.
Look at the file structures for both folders, any uncommon files can be copied from one folder to the other.
Any common files between the two mods will have to be de-compiled, compared line by line, and merged if necessary.
Make a single folder containing files from both mods. Repack the folder and run tests with the newly merged mod by playing the game (be sure to back up your own patch_hd.dat and patch_hd.fat files first.
The comparison process can take a long time for certain mods, and the merged mod might not run on the system either, in which case your work up till now has been unsuccessful.
Or you can play with one of the two mods. If I remember correctly, FC4 requires two playthroughs anyway.
Immortality comes at the cost of your nose. Refer to Davey Jones and Voldemort.
Hi! Long overdue update here: after tackling Far Cry 5 and New Dawn, ArmanIII decided to work on providing mod support for Far Cry 4. In short:
- With his Far Cry 4 Mod Installer, we now have a way to combine several mods together. So you can cherry pick mods you want. - With his FCBConverter tool, you'll be able to convert between binary and XML with more hashes translated to their named values. It also unpacks dats, so basically it's the only tool you'll need for modding now.
Just figure I post this information here. Existing Far Cry 4 mods will have to be re-made into zip files to allow the Mod Installer to apply them to the game. But when that's done, I think the game will shine!
So yes, it will be possible to run multiple mods at the same time. Soon.
