I assume that the nightmare versions (especially the latest) should function if a player has remained with Ubisoft's patch 1.8.
From the description on Nexus the above is how I understand the reference to the older (013 and below) versions. I.E., they won't work with patch 1.10. There's no reference that the later versions are restricted to patch 1.10.

Yes, thats correct. But the later versions do work only with 1.9.0 or 1.10.0. Reason for this are the additional entries in the shopfile and pricelists for Yeti DLC items. Older version will crash when you open the shop. It will still not work with Yeti because of the changed skilltree.

My assumption from the Nexus description isn't what's described here, despite the first sentence.
Since there are issues with the specific patches as released by Ubisoft, it would be very helpful to gamers if the description(s) were very specific as to which patches the mod versions will run with, or not.
Not everyone has 1., purchased Yeti, nor 2., upgraded beyond 1.8 because of 1. (as well as not wanting to add even more useless code to a already poorly written [code-wise] game.

FYI I don't think the additional shop entries will cause problems with 1.8 or earlier. The game engine *should* ignore them. You should be able to run the mod even on 1.8 with no ill effects. I think. Someone can correct me if I'm wrong.
On 1.9 and 1.10 however the additional entries were in support of the Yeti DLC and I think they are present in the base game even if you don't have the DLC (or season pass). In other words if you have a newer updated version then you already have everything you need for the DLC - it's just not activated.

I certainly hope we're not "talking" in circles here. My impression from following what was posted on the Ubisoft forums was that if you wanted to play FC4 with the DLC Yeti you indeed had to upgrade your game to 1.9/1.10.
Since upgrading was automatic, I along with others, continue to play off-line with patch 1.8 - since as I, again say, going to patch 1.10 does nothing to improve/repair the game if there is no intent to purchase Yeti - IOW doesn't fix any issues dealing with single player games running with patch 1.8.
My impression from bontainer response is that the nightmare mod was upgraded (with version 14 and higher) to run only if you have patch 1.10.

Here's a late night update: loaded up nightmare version 16 w/ Ajay at normal speed, and FC4 at patch 1.8.
No crashes with the shop so far. Just did the first two tutorial missions so far.
Unfortunately the loot chest blinking can not, apparently, be turned off. This shouldn't be an issue since the base of the mod is Jeff's enhanced hardcore, and that was the game version previously loaded. In fact my menu settings came over as I had them for that mod. I have everything turned off.
In the General menu screen there are the two blank lines. Top is for camera tagging on/off, and the other is "disable loot animations" on/off. The camera tagging feature works as it should, not so the loot animation, no matter whether on or off.
Any suggestions? Anyone else using this specific mod and using patch 1.8?

I am not sure, but I think the "blinking switch" was a feature of 1.9.0 (thank you UBI for NOT providing change logs).

An update: re-loaded Jeff's FC4E HC ver .18, and there's no blinking whatsoever; chests, notes, bodies. IIRC, he turned everything off. So in theory, the nightmare mod(s) should also have that feature.
I also miss-spoke on what "disable loot animation" on/off did - it has nothing to do with blinking, but what Ajay does, or doesn't do, when looting.

Odd that switch doesn't work. The missing text is another side effect of the modified Oasis (along with lip synch issue) though I think we might finally have that licked. Stay tuned for that. Why the switch doesn't work has me mystified. If it is indeed a bug it can be killed one of two ways - 1) I had a blanked out graphic I used to use in place of the "shimmer" graphic. or 2) In later versions of the mod I found the HTML file which controlled the color, intensity and direction of the shimmer so it could be zeroed out there. (Theoretically it can also be altered as desired - I changed it to red as an experiment long ago and it was pretty interesting, but of course I think most people would rather have nothing than any kind of glow/pulse/blink be it red, blue, silver, gold or what have you )

Bontainer has stated the nightmare mod(s) are based on FC4E HC 1.8, so however blinking was turned off in the base mod, should apply to nightmare, I would think.
Also, the "missing text" is apparently a display-issue-only under the options/General menu, and doesn't have anything to do with items blinking, or not. The missing text deals with turning on or off camera tagging and loot animation.

Just a quick note: This thread probably should be moved over to the Modding section, under the Enhanced Nightmare folder. My bad that I didn't notice the heading for this section of the forum.
