Thanks Bontainer.
Is it possible to change weapon magazine size and how much ammo Ajay can carry on himself?

Hmm.. I could have sworn when I installed your HC19X mod that the mag size of the MS16 went down to 10 rounds from the vanilla 15... But thanks for the information. Do you have a list of the changes you made for the HC19X mod?

Sorry I must have gotten them mixed up when I wrote the tutorial. I glanced at the wrong line the AK-47 file apparently. basedamage is the the correct value to change (btw 40 150 in the comments is a note to myself that vanilla = 40 hardcore = 150) These values then are less than hardcore, but more than vanilla (double or so it looks like...) Try some tests for yourself and see how it works. Thanks for the reply. So, these values affect weapon damage - but not weapon accuracy? I'm asking because I want to set the shotguns to have higher damage, but I would also like to differentiate them from one another. If one has greater accuracy than the other, but same damage, this could be the perfect difference, allowing me to set all shotguns to one damage value. Thoughts? EDIT: I've installed the FC4E Hardcore for a bigger challenge, but I would like to make some changes. For the majority of the mod, I like the changes, but the following ones, if you can assist me in changing them? -Increase random encounter spawn -Return xp and karma leveling to vanilla -Increase Sherpa Encounter -Allow collectibles to be spotted on the minimap from farther away -Make enemies visible on the minimap If you can assist me in these changes, I'd appreciate it - I hate to be a bother!!! Thanks! EDIT #2: The FC4E Hardcore Mod crashes upon entering a shop. I didn't change much to the mod. Hmm. EDIT #3: Even the FC4E Hardcore vanilla (no changes from me) crashes upon viewing the shop. Suggestions? EDIT #4: So I think I've figured out that your Hardcore mods are not compatible with the newest version of FC4. So I gave Botainer's HC19X a try, and it works. But I don't have a changelog, so I don't know what was changed. Do you have a list of the changes? Thank you. JRavens? Do you have any suggestions?

You'll need to experiment and see. Random encounter spawns - you want more encounters? If so delete the file \patch_hd\__UNKNOWN\misc\A442439360EE9B5D.maybe.rml XP & Karma - handled by \__UNKNOWN\game\CEF2050C2780F74C.fcb Created a tutorial here: farcrymods.freeforums.net/thread/169/modding-109-change-karma-levelsIncrease Sherpa encounters - remove the file \patch_hd\__UNKNOWN\misc\3C2614D75AC3A96F.maybe.rml Allow collectibles to be spotted on the minimap from farther away - Entity Archetype file 153129968707904202.ark.fcb Change line 2808 from this: <field hash="D3CAD390" type="BinHex">00001041</field> To this: <field hash="D3CAD390" type="Float32">9</field> Change 9 to whatever distance in meters you want (360 degrees around Ajay - I think 30 is the edge of the minimap...) Enemies visible on minimap - remove these 3 files: \patch_hd\ui\singleplayer\textures\hud\icons\minimap\tx_nl_tagged_ally.xbt \patch_hd\ui\singleplayer\textures\hud\icons\minimap\tx_nl_tagged_enemy.xbt \patch_hd\ui\singleplayer\textures\hud\icons\minimap\tx_nl_tagged_enemy_down.xbt HC19X - no sorry I don't have a specific change log. A lot of that got lost in the transfer to my new PC

JRavens, or anyone else, do you have the default weapon damage values? I'd like to enhance the weapon damage slightly, but to do that I need to reference the original weapon damage values.
Thanks.

Hi JRaven
I was interested in downloading your annotated weapon .xmls - however, your dropbox links have been disabled due to high amounts of traffic. Is there any chance you could upload another copy of the zip of annotated weapon files? I'd be super grateful.

Hi and welcome to the forums!
Which weapon files do you mean? Did I link them somewhere here on the forums?
It's probably way better to download Janne's files above as they are fully detailed with all the fields detailed just as they were in Far Cry 3. Whatever I have probably just has a few fields pointed out. I've since moved to using Janne252 and RaZorfinnish's files as they are much, much easier to use.

Thanks! I probably should have linked the files I was talking about haha. This was the link I was talking about, from the last page (hence why I'm posting here) www.dropbox.com/s/ea6ucchbrwohlbb/FC4_WEAPONS_ALT_DAMAGE.zipI'm mostly interested in this if only because it means I don't have to type out every weapon name and copy them from Janne's human-readable copy of the ark.xml files. You implied that your annotated fcbs were already organized per weapon category and you've notated what the relevant fields to change are, which is compelling. Also, and I might be totally off on this, I thought you couldn't convert Janne's readable ark.xml files back to .fcb files and have them function properly once you've packed them into patch_hd? I'm interested in changing the various damage stats of weapons and merging it into your open world mod, and while I can use the loose files you've provided on the nexus it's a bit difficult to customize those properly. On the other hand if you can just convert Janne's readable ark.xml files to .fcb, pack them and go then I'm set.

Yes I will see if I can upload these somewhere else. Be aware like I said that they are unlikely to have very many fields other than flevel anointed. Janne's files actually CAN be converted with the correct setup which pj helped me with. Here is his instructions on how to get that properly working (very helpful considering most of the weapons stuff is well known from FC3 and hasn't been altered all that much in FC4): farcrymods.freeforums.net/post/938/threadIf you use those you may want to find the DOF entries (Depth of Field) and zero them out as well since that is what creates the horrid blur over the weapons when Ajay is holding and ironsighting them. Thanks

Thanks Thanks for the pointer! I really appreciate all the work you've done so far on modding Far Cry 4, it's truly remarkable. However I had followed the advice of that post earlier - I'm using the linked dunia2 tools and the correct project files. However, I can't seem to rebuild the file list, I get 'could not detect install path'. Tried launching via an elevated command prompt but that didn't help. Is there a specific directory the dunia2 tools need to be in? I installed mine @ ...\Ubisoft Game Launcher\games\Far Cry 4\Modding\bin in case that's relevant, I'm not entirely sure. In any event I can easily convert to and from xml and .fcb files with the tools, but as I'm stuck with a hideous 250kb/s download rate for the next few weeks and FC4 is still downloading, I can't test and see if they cause any problems. Still, packing and unpacking seems to work fine as is (I don't have the problem that Mike cat seemed to have). Do I need to rebuild the file lists to ensure proper conversion? If so, how about would I go about debugging this? Thanks a ton! E: Dumb thought. Any chance this could be because Far Cry 4 isn't technically installed on this system yet? I'd be stunned if that was actually an issue but it's the only one I can think of related to an installation path issue. e2: nope that's not it.

Hmm well one thing I know is it's really touchy about the path length so your path may be too long because it has to extract some files to very long paths on top of an already long path. Personally I keep mine right at the root of my drive C:\Dunia\ Also pretty sure pj told me using RebuilFilelists.exe was very important and you had to run it once to set everything up. I dunno if the error you are experiencing is related to filepath. I too DID get that error at some point, but mine works so... dunno. Also note that converting FCB to XML even with this setup will NOT make readable files. It only allows you to use the existing readable files that Janne & RaZor have provided and make THOSE into FCB files the game can use. I will try to upload those files somewhere else but if you get impatient you can join dropbox for free and then should be able to access the old files. I think that "public" access from them just means you have to have a dropbox account. Not that I'm advocating them in any way. They are convenient for me personally to move stuff between work and home, but I won't pay for their service and only use the freebie account. Thanks and good luck!
