Disregard the instructions on the web - they're wrong. i.e. Don't do what this quote here says:-this Here's the right version of the DuniaTools for FC4, SM, plus the correct FC4 project files: 1). Place the zipfile inside the DuniaTools\bin\projects folder, and then unzip it right there. It will create the correct structure for you and will make the files needed. You don't have to do anything more. Once this is done - go up to the bin folder and run the RebuildFileLists.exe. (which will have a size of 1084 kB) and Welcome to the forum! pj

Hmm, odd. In any event I extracted DuniaTools to the root of my C: drive just in case filepath length was in issue. Then, I redownloaded and reextracted gibbed_fc4project in C:\DuniaTools\bin\projects from the above link just in case some of the files were corrupt. I went to the bin folder and ran RebuildFileLists both by double clicking and with an elevated command prompt. All I get is the following: Loading project... Could not detect install path.
Do I have to delete the Far Cry 3 files in there? Similarly, I have a number of zipped files in that folder, do I need to get rid of those?
Thanks for the welcome and all the help!

Sorry for the delay, SM:
Nope: just leave them there, and don't get rid of the FC3 files. Where (on the planet earth) are you located?
It's 1:30 am here in Ontario Canada, so I'm off to bed: it's been a very long and heavy day.
Don't worry - we'll get you going!

Hmmm you might try converting a file and see if they work now. Mine complains too when I try to use rebuild file lists but it still works fine for me.

Right now I'm in California though, so PST means late posting. In any event, file conversion seems to work fine and the effects appear to be reflected in game. The tools work, at any rate. Haven't the faintest why the file lists thing is being annoying, but so long as it all works is it actually an issue? I've modded enough games myself (admittedly mostly romhacking and unrealengine .upk modding) to know that it's real easy for something to appear to work and yet cause horrible bugs all the time, hence my question. But as is the tools appear to work fine.

Hey, SM: If she's unpacking/packing then it's finding the filelists. Here's a coupla pics of what it should look like. I wonder if it can't properly detect the FC4 install path? I also dropped a pic showing Windows blocking the use of files coming from somewhere else. It needs to be unblocked, and 99% of every pc person I know - runs with the UAC slider all the way to the bottom. I hope this helps! Come on back if it doesn't. pj. Edit: When will you be back from sunny California?

I'm in San Francisco, so it's actually super rainy and foggy and miserable. Katy Perry lied about those golden beaches. I'm here until the 9th.
Anyways, I've no idea what's going on here. UAC is turned off, I made sure my antivirus wasn't blocking anything. It works though, which is all I really care about, at certain point?

Remember if it works - don't "fix" it! (but I'm also notoriously lazy so...)
