So before a batch of new and distracting games makes it's way into our lives I thought I would unveil the first of a few final surprises I have up my sleeve. Over the next few weeks a few last mod projects will be coming out. Many interesting things to be sure. However TODAY I present to you - The Open World Mod! - www.nexusmods.com/farcry4/mods/26/?This mod unlocks all the weapons, signature weapons, attachments, the shiny (not so new) ACE signature weapon and most importantly YES it does open the North from the start of the game (and no more sneaky super long out of bounds timer tricks either). Hopefully it's (mostly) bug free. Of course as always if you find a problem with it just let me know and I'll work to fix the issue as best I can. Stay fierce my friends!

What's the relationship relating to features, if any, between the new open world immersion mod and the former FC4 Enhanced v1.8?
Or is a new open world enhanced cut also in the works?

I intend to add the North open in Hardcore and I expect bontainer might want to add it to Nightmare.
Open world mod by itself is for anyone that wants the vanilla game, but wants to play it with the attachments mod and all of the guns, skills, and north unlocked at the start of the game. A popular request has always been all weapons unlocked and of course I think everyone has wanted to north unlocked (just as the south island being unlocked was a feature of most Far Cry 3 mods)
Open World Immersion is everything unlocked plus less prompts, no enemies through walls, no enemies on the minimap, etc. Its the Open World + Immersion mod. The point of this mod is still someone who wants the vanilla game play features (i.e. no changes to weapon damage, crafting, etc), but improved and more immersive GRAPHICAL play. It's kind of "hardcore light".
I need a better system for explaining to players what each mod is intended for... I'm terrible at explaining them.
If/when a system for creating your own mods comes out this will not be such an issue (nor will I have to try and juggle so many mods...).
The mods I have been releasing lately include "loose files" in anticipation that players will either learn to pack/unpack and change their own mods OR some way that we can make it automated or easier for folks who want to change their game, but lack the knowledge of how to do it.

With a whole series of older cuts of the mods with slightly different names, as well as more than one individual generating them (based on the other's efforts) it's indeed a bit confusing as to exactly what's "what".
Thanks for the follow-up.

I am using the Open World Mod (not Oper World Immersive) and liberated the first radio tower, but the map is only part opened up... In some areas (reviled on the map) I still get Ubisoft's "leaving mission area" and the mission fails. Is that normal? I am also getting those annoying Eagle attacks (although not too many).

"Leaving mission area" means you have taken a mision and have left the area of the mission, which makes the game reload the save from the beginning of the mission. It has no relation to open world.

Hi Some questions: >and liberated the first radio tower, but the map is only part opened up... You mean the fog of war covering the map? If so that is normal. You have to climb the Bell Towers to get rid of all the fog covering the map. >I still get Ubisoft's "leaving mission area" and the mission fails. Is that normal? Is this while you are in a mission? Because if so then yeah I haven't changed the mission zones (I probably could but I imagine it would cause all sorts of things to mess up with missions) If this just happens to you randomly while you are walking around while not in a mission then yeah that is a bug and I need to know about that ASAP. >I am also getting those annoying Eagle attacks (although not too many). I didn't adjust the eagles in the open world mod, but given how annoying they are I probably should always assume that people would prefer that. It's often hard to decide what things some people will want changed and want others don't want touched...

Thanks for the reply JRavens, I appreciate it. I must have been a little confused about the mod features... ok now.

Hi all, loving the open world mod and was wondering how I can combine the high damage from hardcore into this as well. Happy to unpack, repack etc just need to know what file(s) I would need. Currently using Open World Immersive Mod with Easier Crafting. Keep up the great work

Hi romerta and welcome to the forums The easiest way is to unpack open world mod in it's own directory. Then download and unpack to a different directory one of these two higher damage attachments mods: Higher Damage www.nexusmods.com/farcry4/download/125VERY HIGH Damage www.nexusmods.com/farcry4/download/126(you could also try the nightmare version which has the highest/lethal damage - but be aware that it also makes changes to the ammo names and a few other things: www.nexusmods.com/farcry4/mods/17/?)Take whichever higher damage version you decide on a copy that INTO the open world mod overwriting files when asked. Pack up the modified open world mod and rename it to patch_hd.dat and patch_hd.fat Enjoy more damage! Pew pew!
