Hello everyone!
I like immersive gameplays, and I also very liked one of the Ziggy's mod feature that allowed player to no auto reload weapons, you had to remember that you had to reload your weapons.
So, I alredy know that to change those values in Far Cry 3 we needed:
to have Dunia Tools, unpack patch.dat file convert binarty objects on entityliberary.fcb change bAutoReload from "True" to "False" in PawnPlayer file or in each weapon proporties files save changes and then pack everything up
Everything is fine but I do not have an idea how to make it work in FC 4 sadly.
Could I get some backup from you guys?

Hi and welcome to the forums I don't think the autoreload switch in the playerpawn file works anymore. You can try it (since it's easier than changing all the weapons). The file is patch_hd\entityarchetypeslibrary\153129968707904202.ark.fcb The line is line # 1977 (Han Solo reference?!? Probably just a funny coincidence ) Actually you might not be able to extract that file so let me attach it here to this post: 153129968707904202.ark.xml.zip (21.59 KB) You will need to: make the change (from true to false) save the file use CONVERT BINARY OBJECTS to convert the file (be sure to use that one since it is an FCB) rename the converted file to 153129968707904202.ark.fcb make the folders and put it in patch_hd\entityarchetypeslibrary\ pack your patch_hd and give it a test! Let us know if it works. I think I tried this in the past and it did not work So then it will have to be changed in all the weapon files which is a little more involved...

Well I actually managed to make no auto reloading on weapons. At least it's working for SMG in starting mission car chase, but I think it SHOULD be working for all guns. Here's what I had done precisely, and thank you very much for your help! 1. You'll need both files from site you gave me: farcrymods.freeforums.net/thread/186/creating-auto-reloading-all-weapons2. Take 153129968707904202.ark file (PawnPlayer file) from files you just downloaded (use Archetype Browser to see) 3. Then search for bAutoReload, change it to "False" 4. Unpack patch_hd and go to patch_hd\entityarchetypeslibrary 5. And put the file you just edited to mentioned location 6. Then pack everything up It should be working properly, so far I tested it only at starting mission car (scene with SMG) but it WAS ok. Best would be If you see for yourself.

You are correct, JR. Editing the 153 ark does nothing: editing lines 33 & 34:-
<field name="bAutoReload" type="Boolean">False</field> <field name="bAutoReloadInIronsight" type="Boolean">False</field>
in the 1711 (AK) ark fixes it, so I expect it has to be done this way to all weapons.

Hey maksj23pl be sure to let us know if it continues to work in the game once you get past all the opening stuff in act 1.
As pj wrote sadly I think this has to be done at the weapon level.
I could be wrong though (hope I AM wrong because it would be an easy fix)
Mmmm worse comes to worse I can do a mass find and replace of the weapons files. That would at least take some of the work out of it... anyone know how easily batch convert files with convert binary objects? I kinda don't want to have to drag and drop dozens of files just to change this :/

Nope - not for me. Second time - same as the first. I just re-checked the 1977 line:-
<field name="bAutoReload" type="Boolean">False</field> in the 153129968707904202.ark.xml, datestamp 4:23, with the fcb datestamp at 4:24, with the patch_hd_unpack datestamped at 4.25, and the same in the data_win32 folder, so it is active. Given Maks reply - I thought I might have missed something in my first test. I checked with the AK, P416 and A50, and all auto-reloaded.
Something is defferent somewhere!

Just to add another 2 cents, as your test seems to work and mine doesn't ----> When I re-read the post of your method, Maks - you used the word "precisely", so I assume that you had not repacked the 153129968707904202.ark.xml after you edited it, as there is no mention here of dragging the (xml) file over to the Gibbed.Dunia2.ConvertBinaryObject.exe to convert it back to an fcb. As Pagan Min says "I'm very particular with my words." Well, so am I, and so I tried this just in case this did actually work - unfortunately - no it didn't. There are a few files in the FC4 system which are plain XML, as well as a lua here and there - and they do work - so I thought that this may be one of them.
Too bad. I'd like to know why it works on your system. As JR says - it's a lot of work to edit each file.

And well I just finished tutorial and tried AK 47, Uplay gun, Sandman Pistol and Elephant Shotgun and all seems to work very well It means it's not being reloaded automaticly. Maybe I should try to explain my method once more: 1. Use this: janne252.com/downloads/fc4/FCC_Main_Archetypes.rarAnd maybe this if you want: www.janne252.com//downloads/fc4/entityarchetypebrowser/FC4ArchetypesBrowser_v001.zip2. From first link you should take file named: 153129968707904202.ark a) open it with notepad ++ b) find "bAutoReload" c) and then change the value to opposite True -> False d) save changes in file e) convert binary objects in file you just edited (meaning 153129968707904202.ark) and rename from 153129968707904202_converted.ark.fcb to 153129968707904202.ark.fcb 3. Then I started with my patch_hd file (more precisely I was doing it on jvarnes's Open World Mod from nexus page, mod I'm currently using) a) Unpack it with Dunia b) Navigate to patch_hd / entityarchetypeslibrary c) PASTE your EDITED 153129968707904202.ark.fcb file to patch_hd / entityarchetypeslibrary directory d) PACK your patch_hd file back to dat \ fat format e) PASTE new patch_hd file to Far Cry 4 directory of the game I hope now will be no understatements in my explanations. : ) And It's really working for me. Also I'm playing FC4 on Windows 10, but I don't think that may be a mayor cause why it's working just for me. Also apologize for misunderstandings it's probably due to my english... It SHOULD work now, if not tell me I try to modify patch_hd file once more using steps I written there.

Your English is fine. You did it just like I thought, but I cannot replicate it in my game leading me to wonder if your version is different. Did you update to v1.10 or your version is a cracked version or anything? Not trying to accuse you of anything, but for whatever reason I can't make it work in the U.S. version v1.10 using my open world mod and Janne252's pawnplayer file....

Thanks Maks! Clear as a bell this time! I was pretty sure you had done it as you just wrote, but sometimes..... Your method is correct, and is exactly how I do any mods to the ark.fcb files, but the only way I can kill the automatic reload is by changing the "True" to "False" in the individual weapon's properties file. (I'm in Canada - so mine is the US version, too. " Also apologize for misunderstandings it's probably due to my english..." NO apologies are necessary - it's a big world! (Even the English can't always speak English) ..... and to echo JR - "Welcome to the forum"!

No of course it's not cracked... it's originals game downloaded from Uplay few days ago it's as up to date as it should be on this platform so it should be 1.10. I also have all game expansions. The only one file I edited "handly" was GamerProfile in Documents\ MyGames section... Also I'm from Europe not US, I m not sure if US version is different from Europeans or the same. It's just working. I just made weapons to not reload automaticly on vanilla patch_hd files. I would like to share it with you, so please check link I put below. There are 3 files in archive patch_hd .fat and .dat and patch_hd but not packed so you could take a look inside at start. Line 1907 is the only different line between yours and mine, Maks. One is 1.2, and the other 1.75, but the AutoReload - both are set to "00" - "False. Strange..

Well thank you for uploading the files and I'm glad it's working for you! Unfortunately I tried using both you ark file and your compiled patch_hd files and the AJM still automatically reloads for me so I'm completely stumped. This is the first time I've found something working in one Uplay version and not another. Oh well I will set this aside for now and come back to it later. The most important thing is it works for your game. I have another mod on the horizon which will probably address this issue anyway so no need to spend a lot of time on it now. Have fun saving Kyrat from the Eagles!
