Link went to his mod, but unfortuantely not his post... not sure if the forums handle the links correctly. Hopefully he won't mind me quoting him here:
Just to give you guys a little preview of what the upcoming nightmare edition will look like, here is the current list of major changes compared to the hardcore edition:
• Further increased XP required for each skill. • Compass, health bar, armor bar and syringe counter removed from the HUD. • All weapons removed from the shop other than the 1911 and melee weapons. (No attachments for the 1911) • Ammo and consumables removed from the shop. • Several crafting upgrades removed, reducing the amount of supplies you can carry. (Rare skin for every upgrade, no "special" upgrades) • Loot tables completely redone. Junk loot removed. Ammo types and amounts looted rebalanced. (All NPCs and crates) • Manual healing can only be used when under one bar of health. Manual healing skills removed. (Syringes required to heal over one bar) • Reduced ammo from weapons dropped by NPCs.
In addition to this, I have made several changes to the NPC loadouts and will be changing the weapons used for the Path of the Hunter missions, to provide a larger variety of weapons.
Since the changes listed above will render several skills completely useless, I will be completely redoing the skill trees as well, condensing it down to two pages rather than three. Even though there will be less skills to get in nightmare mode, the total amount of XP needed to get all of the skills will still be higher than the hardcore edition. This means you will get skills at a much slower pace.
Just to be clear, this edition of the mod is entirely intended to be pretty unfair for the player and I hope it will provide a much more intense challenge for those who really want to test their ability to survive in this game.
Sounds brutal > Be sure to check it out!
