With an absence lately whilst reexamining their ranking parameters, Tom's has come up with a new article on Best CPUs of this era.
Nice of them to mention the great deals available for those looking for genuine value with the Xenon processors that have no graphics added and have 2megs more L3 than i5 which makes them more like a sleeker gaming cpu than the i7s they are akin to. They give an Honorable Mention at least to the great Xenon E3 V123 v.3 on the readily available and cheap platform 1150 that holds the i3, i5, and i7s also, which gives more versatility later on if you change your priorities such as making the kids a machine for homework. They show this model at 252 dollars US type.
Take a look if you are a professional software coder or someone doing graphics on large scale pixel count as they have the 4 cores with L3 cache of 8megs PLUS the hyper-threading making 8 theoretical cores, of the i7s without the higher price, and as an added feature, have lower TDP (Total Dissipated Power) to deal with since no on board graphics which if a gamer, you have a discrete card anyway. I myself use the 3350P which also has no onboard graphics and lower TDP making it easier to cool and overclock (in a fashion with non-K type OCing that was available on some bios versions last year for a while).
Another non regular type cpu available is the 6 core cheapest version of the Haswell-E i7 5820K that used to be too much to consider, but approaches the lower priced i7 Skylakes now, and is recommended over them for many reasons like 4 channel memory and super duper characteristics. It is $356 US.
Gotta go, have a nice day...... truely.
Some of you professional dudes that make money with your puters please give some input on whether you have considered and rejected these for some reason, my experience in your field is limited to hardware and gaming side.... thx.
