Without any major spoilers, I'm wondering if others had the same impression(s) when the Prydwen first makes its appearance (outside the visual impression alone):
A sudden shift in the structure/feeling, of the game. More noise; more random events; new NPCs to be careful around.
Up to then it was just you and the folks of the Commonwealth, and you were going about your business; i.e., leveling up, discovering new places, looking for unique items; perhaps a bit bored with some of the repeatable quests, but over all it was just you and what the game world had to offer. Then, however, we enter another level of the game itself.
So, just wondering if others wish to share.

Definite changes are the vertbird patrols, not only from the Brotherhood but also from the Gunners - not every vertibird is your friend...
There is always a bit of fighting going on at the peripherie of your perception, but at higher levels the enemy is equippded with things that go boom, so you will take more notice of it.

Interesting ... haven't encountered any non-BOS vertibirds, yet ...

Verrry interesting! Apparently I need to go back and play some more FO4 because you guys are talking about events I hadn't gotten too yet (Steam holiday sale distracted me from Fallout for a bit). Nice to hear there is some kind of other larger arc going on than simply attending to Preston's desire to recolonizer all of Boston

If you want to play it the hard way, try the attached mod, I haven`t published it yet... put it last in your load order, it should work with any other mod. But start a new game, because I changed the leveling requirements (you will level faster, as a compensation for the difficulty). There are a few quests and questarcs that are really above average. Museum of Witchcraft is REALLY very good (but short). The area around the museum is als very interesting but only recommended if you have reached level 30+. The Cabot family arc is also very good. It starts when you enter Bunker Hill for the first time. If you like classic pulp (The Shadow, Doc Savage), enter the first room on the right in the Memory Den.

I'm hoping the new patch 1.3 will address some of the issues regarding what Preston offers; i.e., basically now a means to level up rather quickly w/o too much effort -- boring as H*ll, and it appears to me to be basically broken - how many times is it that the same relative is going to be kidnapped by the same faction, at the same location - bah, bah, bah. BTW, based on the story line in various conversions, Super Mutants aren't going to hold a human captive for ransom - their going to be dinner!!
I really want to wrap this go around up, just to see how it plays out based on some of my faction decisions. Then look for another shot at it, using some of the mods which address what Peter, for example, has introduced (plus some others).
