Hey there! I try to convert some of the Entity Archetypes which are unknown or not in the 9000+ Collection for Janne's Entity Browser available. For this i made three little tools (or an addon, or update?) for "Gibbed.Dunia2.ConvertBinaryObject.exe" and i would like to share this with you all, but first we need some tests if it really works well! -> It looks like it would work  At the moment i found 200+ new *.ark.xml files out of the *.dat files with my little helper

No one tested this little tool..?@ JRavens I saw your post in farcrymods.freeforums.net/thread/81/weapon-data-question-jravens with the attached FC4_WEAPONS.zip Now I had a short look into your 7676525528817.ark.xml for D50, and about 99% are not readable and you made some comments with like "// fRange". Short question now: Are you still working with those unreadable files or is the post just too old and you have decrypted versions yet? I am asking, because with my tool mentioned above you will be able to read those files. Your file:  My file:

No problem - thank you for testing the tool The best thing in my eyes is the ability to convert multiple files at once .... and thats why it wont work if you drag and drop a file on it  |

I'm looking for a way to make sense of a .fc3map. Using Gibbed.Dunia2.ConvertBinaryObject.exe, I can convert ige_map.mapsdata.fcb into ige_map.mapsdata_converted.xml. However, the XML uses hashes rather than names and I'd like to change that. However, when I run your Fino.Dunia2.ConvertBinaryObject.exe tool on the file, it doesn't seem to output an XML file. I don't know if this is because it's a file from FC 3 map instead of FC 4, but if not, it may indicate a bug?  |

Those tools are only for converting FCB-to-ARK.XML and/or ARK.FCB-to-ARK.XML to find unknown entityarchetypes. for all other .fcb files you have to use gibbed's tools Main Features: - decrypt multiple *.fcb and / or *.ark.fcb at once - if it is a *.ark.fcb, some lines will be decrypted and readable - if it is a unknown *.fcb and a *ark.fcb behind this unknow file, it will be decrypted and readable too |

Alas, my unknown *.fcb wasn't decrypted, nor readable. I guess this means that my unkown *.fcb doesn't have an *ark.fcb 'behind it' and I must somehow bruteforce the CRC32 hashes. Would work better if there was a FC4 known hashtable out there. |

Ok, I analyzed Janne's definition files I got, and compiled a list of known FC4 CRC32 mappings to string, datatypes and values. I whipped up a little PHP script to help me analyze/understand the XML files. It's still work in progress, but I pasted JRavens 7676525528817.ark.xml for D50 from FC4_WEAPONS.zip as an example and it resolved more hashes to names than the screenshot Fino4 posted above. You can use the tool at steve64.eu5.org/fc4-xml.php. You can input either crc32 values (one per line) to see if they translate to known names, or just paste an xml file contents to see if you can get more information out of it. Note however that the resulting XML output is only intended for intermediate (EYES ONLY) analysis and should NOT be blindly used for converting as it contains invalid values. Also note that 64-bit values have yet to be implemented, I'll get round to that later. |

Looks like FC3 lines heh, that's probably because they are? I think I may have copied the CRC32 definitions of the Far Cry 3 project too. No clue if that will work out in the end, but if the CRC32 hashes check out & naming schemes are consistent... |

I tried to on "153129970837048857.ark.fcb", extracted from fcc_main. However, Gibbed.Dunia crashes when called with parameter -b=".ark.fcb", resulting in an 153129970837048857.ark_converted.xml file of only 166 out of 1231 lines. Code dump:

Running Gibbed.Dunia manually without said parameter results in the 1231 lines just fine, although it mentions "Warning: could not find binary object file definition 'ark'". I've been converting *.ark.fcb without that parameter all the time, have I been missing out on something? |

While installation of the new FC4 Project Definition, did you change in "current.txt" the value from "Far Cry 3" to "Far Cry 4"?

No need for that, I downloaded the archive from the Modding 100 thread, and the zip already has 'Far Cry 4' set in current.txt.
