Shitballs! It's Multiplayer
Hey again Ghosts!
More spoilers for you guys. This time focusing on what we can find out about the upcoming Multiplayer mode for Ghost Recon Wildlands.
This one is VERY IMAGE HEAVY with a lot to look over so I apologize for the length and amount of images below.
WARNING! This is ALL 100% conjecture on my part based solely on the images and their names. Also (as you will see) this is clearly VERY, very much a work in progress. There are images that are everything from simple silhouettes to line drawings to full on pictures or renders. EVERYTHING has a very placeholder feel to it so there is NO guarantee that any of this will make it into the final product.
Also almost all of these files are very old (in GRW terms) and have NOT been in the last few patches - meaning whatever Ubi is working on for MP is mostly still "in house" and not accessible to us. Even now things could look very different or have been changes. Basically what we have is access to the equivalent to a bunch of early beta files.
Alright here we go:
MENUS
There is not too much in the way of structured menu images. I did find several images that were repeated in various sizes over and over again all in the colors yellow, gray and blue. This seems to be a trend in the files and there are even dots listed as spawn points which are yellow (sometimes called amber), gray and blue (sometimes called cyan) leading one to wonder if there won't by 3 teams or factions based around those colors. Interestinggly the maps only feature the stereotypical red vs blue teams so not sure.
Here are a couple of the menu graphics with the various colors stacked next to one another:
This is a score board image again showing blue vs red:
And remember Ghosts it's not how you play the game, but whether you win or lose!
WINNER WINNER CHICKEN DINNER

FACTIONS
So as I said there are a lot of graphics revolving around three colors (yellow/gray/blue)
I also found a series of player avatar images that at first I thought might have faction icons behind them - a star, group of people and a skull
When I put the images side by side however I discovered that the background behind them fit almost perfectly together as though they were all meant to be displayed together. We know the game is meant to be 4 vs 4 players so now I think the following image is actually your TEAM slots and the icons have much more normal meanings. The people icon is also found elsewhere named as clanmate, the star is called "starred" (I assume means favorited) no idea n the skull however (rival clan?)
Take a look and see what you think:
CLASSES
There seem to be 5 different classes or loadouts for multiplayer.
They are Assault, Engineer, Scout, Sniper and Support.
The Assault class looks to have an assault rifle (here an ACR), sidearm (silenced P45) and 4 frag grenades. He is equipped with a scanner, medium armor, NVGs and a pair of binoculars.
The Engineer is a little more versatile. He has an SMG (P-90), sidearm (also silenced P45), 4 mines and 2 frag grenades. He ha s a drone instead of a scanner, but like the assault class he also carries medium armor, NVGs and a pair of binoculars.
The Scout class is a lighter version of the engineer. They also have an SMG (silenced P90) and sidearm (unsilenced P45), but carry only 2 frag grenades. There armor is listed as Medium, but the icon and bars indicate light armor and also there are modifiers listed to Speed (+15%) and Stamina (+50%) likely due to the light load they carry. In addition they too have NVGs and binoculars.
The Sniper is setup with a sniper rifle (M40A5), sidearm (silenced P45) and 2 frag grenades. They carry a jammer, where a ghillie suit (like a proper sniper for once in a MP game!) and of course have access to the NVGs and binoculars.
The Support class is clearly the "heavy" of the game as he carries an LMG (MK48), sidearm (silenced P45), 2 mines and 4 frag grenades. He wears Heavy armor which presumably is the reason for his stat modifiers to Speed (-10%) and Stamina (-40%). He also has a jammer and like everyone else NVGs and binoculars.
WEAPONS
What multiplayer game is any good without a huge supply of weapons??
First up I found icons for the different weapon classes. Now there were several obvious ones missing (shotgun, LMG, etc) but what I found interesting was an icon specifically for DMRs (Designated Marksman Rifles). Along with the actual weapon names themselves I think this points to there being a class of rifles in between carbines/ARs and sniper rifles. Typically DMRs are accurate semi-auto "tap fire" guns which can fire much faster than bolt action sniper rifles.
Weapon Class Icons:
Right. Onto the guns themselves. I found TONS of weapons in the files that seemed to be set aside specifically for multiplayer. Now again these are all clearly a WIP and this list may not be anywhere near final. It's possible NONE of these will appear in the final game, but hopefully many or all do.
There is also no way to tell if ANY of these weapons will make it into single player.
I've named the guns EXACTLY as they are named in the files. What is odd is there are a lot of unique groupings besides the above mentioned DMRS. For example there are severals SAWs. Bullpups are listed separately from assault rifles as are carbines. SMGs also have guns listed as PDRs or CMGs (
)
So it's hard to tell if there will be a lot of additional gun classes in the game or if this are just the way they named them...

TOOLS
So as we see with the classes there are various drone, "scanners" and "jammers" that players can equip. There seem to be a lot of interesting gear that we can kit out with. Including things like claymores and "taser mines". Here are some of the various tools and equipment images.

MAPS and MODES
To be honest not much is known about what the final maps and modes will be. There are few hints in the files.
I found one map image used over and over again. Initially it didn't seem all that large but once I found more detailed images of it I began to wonder how big it actually is because in these pictures at first glance it looks quite big. The scale is hard to judge (are those trees or shrubs?). Also IF the maps are HUGE won't it be hard for 4 vs 4 players to encounter one another? I've played on smaller Battlefield MP maps with 4-6 team members vs a like amount and run around for minutes without encountering the enemy...
Now there MAY also be NPCs on the maps. I found some indications that at least some game modes may include AI opponents so if that is the case maybe larger maps may not be that unusual.
Here is the best color image I could find of the sample map:

Same map with a bit more detail:

Finally this is a mockup image I found called End Session. Now again this is very old AND it's clearly a mockup so in no way does this mean it's based on actual gameplay, BUT if it was there are some extremely interesting things here. They were other very similar images that mocked up save slots and other single player components so this simply might have been a test for a console menu system.

So that's it for Multiplayer spoilers. It's clear that we really don't have much to go on yet and that Ubi is keeping quite a lot of it under wraps at the moment. Judging from what is here we could be looking at a game with a LOT of variety in terms of weapons and gear. The small size of the teams (4 vs 4) and the potentially large size of the maps is odd and might indicate a very different kind of game other than small skirmishes... my money is still on the final modes being in rather confined areas (contesting bases, capturing flags or stealing intel from computers, etc). I just don't think it will work out well on MP if you have to run miles across the map to kill a human player. I could be wrong though and of course only time will truly tell what we will see for multiplayer.
Hope you guys found this interesting.
Until the next time Ghosts!
