Yeah - you're probably right, Bon... especially now that you and JR have me hooked on GR WildLands and Fallout 4...

Hi JRavens I am wondering if you can find out the same thing, change the out of bounds timer for farcry 3. I used to try to search the count down values for farcry 3's story mode and co-op mode, Unfortunately it was too hard for me. Hope you can find out and add this feture to your next update Frcry 3 mods. BTW Im really enjoy your mods. You make me go back to FC3.

Hi LvLeyi900919 Thank you for the kind words Unfortunately I tried the same trick with Far Cry 3, but it just doesn't work. I'm not sure why it works in 4 and not 3, but there are many instances like that where fours coding was changed to the point that it uses a different method. I even tried sharing some of my successes with DZiggy in the hopes he could apply them to Far Cry 3 as well, but again Ubi thwarts our efforts. It's probably not going too far out on a limb to say that four was probably developed by an almost completely different team of programmers who created and changed whatever they needed to accomplish adding whatever feature they were trying to achieve. Four looks so very much like 3, but under the hood is so incredibly different. Not everything is different of course, but a significant amount to the point that most ways to mod 3 do not work on 4 and vice verse. So I'm sorry to say there still doesn't appear to be a way to change the out of bounds timer on FC3. Inversely it's very easy to unlock the other island in FC3, but currently seemingly impossible to unlock the North section of FC4 from the start O.o

I saw all this shit, and wanted to try it on Far Cry 3 Blood Dragon. I unpacked the data, most of the XML sheets are on data_win32\worlds\blood_main(file), and the __UNKNOWN\game folder is full with 10 thousand files, with .CSEQ, .FCB format which we need, and .RNV . I need help to find the correct string out of all this mess. Somebody?

Blood Dragon was built on Far Far 3 and this particular hack won't work with FC3. Also I don't think anyone ever created a project file for Rick's Gibbed tools for Blood Dragon so almost none of those files are going to be named correctly...

Hi there,
Thanks for the detailed instructions but something does not seem to work for me.
First I did not find any file CEF2050C2780F74C.fcb in the unpacked patch_HD.dat, rather I found it after unpacking the much larger patch.dat
Second when I "Drag the __UNKNOWN\game\CEF2050C2780F74C.fcb onto the Gibbed.Dunia2.ConvertBinaryObject.exe", nothing happens. No error message, no new converted file created anywhere.
I have already changed the current.txt file to Far Cry 4, and since pj's instructions mention using "Gibbed.Dunia2.ConvertBinaryObject.exe" for both packing and unpacking, I thought this might have been an oversight and also tried to unpack with what seems the complementary exe, i.e. "Gibbed.Dunia2.ConvertXml.exe" (not being sure if it meant convert to xml or convert from XML). Again, nothing happens.
I appreciate if you can provide any help, I'd really like to get rid of that accursed out of bound timer - is this game about exploring or what?

PS: is this because I need to roll back to an earlier version of FC4? One where I will find the fcb file where it's supposed to be?

Hello guys. I'm completely new to modding games and coding in general, and I have a few questions, as I'm a bit confused. I reviewed Modding 100 Tools, and Modding 101, and I'm having difficulty finding the file "__UNKNOWN\game\CEF2050C2780F74C.fcb (aka "NomadObjects") and figuring out exactly what I'm supposed to be using the gibbed dunia2 tools for. More specifically, I'm totally lost here, lol. Thanks for any help!

Well we've never found the proper name for it so it should be in unknown if you've extracted all of fcc_main
EDIT - errr at least I think it's fcc_main... maybe it was common.dat or multicommon Sorry I am a bit rusty...

It's been a while since this was posted, I'm just starting to look at modding far cry 4. It looks like the file names have changed, I have no files starting with CEF. What file would I start with for the current Far Cry 4 version?
Maybe I can go through and find the right file by the description. I just want to mod the out of bounds timer, might try some of the offered mods later.

Hi stranger You need to extract the patch.dat file. Inside that is the file: \patch_unpack\__UNKNOWN\game\CEF2050C2780F74C.fcb We should have updated file definitions in the near future as that file's full name and path has been found (kudos and credit to Steve64b for figuring this out!). It's actual path and name is supposed to be \generated\nomadobjecttemplates_rt.fcb though it will likely not be named this when YOU extract the patch.dat (it will be name the CEF name above) You should start with reading the modding 100 and 101 threads first so you can understand about extracting the files from the .dat/.fats files. Thanks and good luck!
