A poignant reminder that no matter how advanced our technology becomes we are and always will be just residents not the rulers of planet Earth. Drone footage of some of the destruction in Nepal from the earthquake including monuments and temples (as well as many peoples homes)

From Far Cry's official twitter: The Far Cry dev teams are raising funds for @redcrosscanada relief efforts in Nepal. Learn how you can help here: www.redcross.ca/FarCryforNepal Looks like they are matching up to $100,000 in donations. I gave what I could, which isn't very much, but every little bit helps. If you have any to spare please consider donating to help. Namaste.

The American Red Cross is also accepting donations for Nepal: www.redcross.org/news/article/Nepal-Red-Cross-Volunteer-Helps-His-CountrymenWhen I was working in Afghanistan ('06-'07); the two projects I worked on used Nepali vets (Royal Nepali Army, Nepali Police, & Indian Army [Nepali Battalions]) as Force Protection in static (entry/exit points, watch towers, observation posts, etc) security roles as well as adjunct Protective Security (body guarding) to fill in for other personnel. I TDYed for 5 months from the project I was contracted to; to run a Counter Narcotics PSD Team in another project. My Team Leaders and Members were all Nepali as well..................real great group of guys. Very gung ho and dedicated; flexible on changing tasks/techniques, very willing to learn, and generous to a fault. I've only got contact info for one of my old Team Leaders, and have not been able to get a hold of him so far. Hoping they and their families all made it OK!!!
