SPOILER WARNING!!
Okay, thanks a million guys, I accomplished the light near warehouse easily with 5 jumps after getting the low down to unpress all but the jump button to allow him to grasp when close to pole cantilever area. I could have sworn I had to turn on the light just south of there almost under the overpass, but apparently they must have changed it to one where I could jump off a rail car to accomplish, first time, north of the warehouse, eerie. Maybe they took pity on me, heh. Very weird, cause I would bet money it showed the one under the overpass as one needing turning on. I recall being wrong before... heh.
I even recall going hand over hand to it to try to swing over.... Oh well. I went to power station and turned on power, met the big boy with rebar weapon, looked for the drops, did the rest spoilers.
Am going to get eaten all night if I can't get to safe spot, first time I saw those fast suckers, look like spitters in L4D2, quite happy to finish those darn lights. Couldn't have done in less than three days if not for video. Thanks Mike and Major Slack Attack and his minions.
For those on fence, get the game, it is quite worthy of the 49 bucks or whatever it is at Steam right now. Unless sale is over, still good for money, tho. Tip, don't even try tunnel quarrentined, till more experienced in game, dem dudes don't play, dey hungy.

Alrighty, now I yam really gonna need that camo survival skill to pick the locks while the neighbors watch, just am not progressing well enough to do like Major does, but that is great fun learning your own style, as they give plenty of opprotunity to develop your style personalized for you. I think they got the learning curve right on this one. Every time I think about playing, I know I will discover someting kewl to use during game to improve.
I think the base fun in games is the ole survival mode of ancestors kicking in, letting the little bs stuff of modern life disappear for a while, and using total concentration on winning and living. As long as we can keep the modern bs stuff in control while we play the games, I think it is healthy escape, at least better than too much alcohol or most drugs.

Naahh... just a lame ol' kidney stone at 11:15 pm. Thought it was appendicitis. Now (back in '65) I did actually drop a Sterling with a full mag on, and it did go bang, but it was pointed out the door, so no big deal there either....

Aww - c'mon now, TakeOut!! There's no such thing as "too much"!! I had three 3-mg rounds of morphine in hospital over the weekend - it was just bliss! Everything was wonderful! More! More! Hahahahah!! Now, if you could continue with 6mg then 12mg for as much as a game costs, there would be a problem, NO?. Just think of not playing a game like FC4 just to get some lame morphine that only feels good for what seems like forever, hmmm, weeeelllllllllll, I guess I should take that back. But my point right now is we would run out of money, then get sick, then have to catch up on all the latest games and get new equipment and not have money for the newest video card, there ya go, there is my point, thought at first I didn't have one................ that would make sense back in hospital....... and I did say MOST drugs.... heh PS: And sorry you had pain, those stones can be near the worst. Thank God for morphine when ya needs it.

Talk about "Dumb and Dumber", Willy! Thanks for the interest.
RAF; British Guiana, Elections night, 1964 playing soldier-boy at night, guarding 3 HAR 10 choppers at Atkinson Field (now Timheri Airport) along with two army and another RAF-type. The other three were outside wandering around, and I was sitting in the "OPS Room" (a euphemism for the shack built from the crates the helicopters were shipped in) writing a letter home. Earlier in the month, a couple of army guys had had their weapons pinched while strolling around, so we got orders to tie the butt-end of the sling around our wrists... Well, you can't write a letter home with a darned strap tied to your wrist now, can you? So when I was done writing - I pushed the chair back and stood up... guess what happened....
I'm pretty sure it won't run the mag, Willy - it's an "open bolt" mechanism, meaning that the bolt (and firing pin) are kinda held in loosely in place by the spring - not locked, (like a normal MG), and it has to be cocked first in order to normally fire. However - when dropped - the bolt - along with the firing pin inside - can slide back far enough that a round will pop into the breech, and when the spring eventually overcomes the inertia of the bolt - but before the trigger catches it, it will start foward agin, and so she will fire that first round. This will throw the bolt far back beyong the trigger, and that will stop the second round from firing.
Nice gun though...

"Made lotsa mistakes in my life." - pj
Naw, whomever gave that order made the mistake of having your trained muscle-motor reactions organization altered while in service in my humble observation.
Anyhoo, glad it didn't do harm worse than embarrassment to psyche.
This game "Dying Light" is actually pulling me away from FC4 with its learning curve for equipment and weapons upgrading, I thought FC was bad, sheesh, this is more like some WoW sorcerers nightmare of tumbling swords and potions spilling from a cornucopia of bottomless leather bags. Talk about carrying around a load, man, this guy has a team of oxen pulling a cart full of gear....... And I thought Ajay was bad. Gotta admit I am drawn by the learning and reorganization of keyboard to accomodate the additional options. Found that I had to lower my range of weapons I would train with. That quick weapons and equipment key for selection is the way to go.
One major glitch with my play, it is not consistent on how to pick up a weapon without replacing it from your arsenal. I try to make a empty slot to get it, and it don't pick up without dropping until third time or so. Not consistent. Any advise on how to pick up a weapon on ground easily without losing one from four in use stations? Probably something easily learnt back in day of old games that I missed only playing first person shooters. This is assuming that there is an available empty slot in backpack.
PS: Mike, gonna go get the mushrooms tonite from cave hopefully to make me invisible to zombies whilst picking locks and so forth. Yahoo!

I've wrapped up my third romp with DL and have returned to Ziggy's latest (3.15) FC3 for a bit of bug checking, so it's been awhile since I've gone hunting for zombies. I don't recall an issue with picking up a weapon as long as you have empty slot(s) available. If all my slots are full, then certainly had to decide that if I wanted a specific weapon, which one in my inventory was going to be left behind. Once you get the mushrooms, and are set to use the disguise, do a test run to see exactly how long it lasts ...

Thanks a bunch, Mike, it must be something I am not doing correctly, as I make a space available in the active weapons area as well as the backpack area to be sure, and no go until about three tries it seems to be average. Not a deal breaker, am loving the game, how do you find time for three run throughs, omg, I forgot when I was younger and it was a good escape from humdrum, I could play many hours, lately, I am lucky to play 12 hrs a week. But the trade off is more time with the younguns while my daughter works. That is better.
I just added a rather loud vote for the game at the start of this thread, heh, in color, I am enjoying it so much. Perhaps it is just because I haven't played much other games since FC3 came out, with it and FC4, not much else was squeezed in.
Just seems ssssooooo much better in tickling the mind for the planning and frustration when not thought about enough. Makes me happy. It is like FC4 for college level rather than high school... don't know how else to put it, no offense planned for any high schoolers intended. Except the crappy user interface for the gear. Perhaps they got used to it and found after about 2000 hrs it worked better, heh.....

I don't know what to say TO - perhaps an issue with any specific key re-mapping you've done?
A general comment, since the inventory system itself could have been better done, try this:
Whatever items you have in the backpack, group them all together from the top of the screen w/out any open slots in-between when you start out to do whatever it is you're going to do.
This issue you're describing has got me stumped I'm afraid.

DL is a very nice break from the FC series, and it indeed feels as if geared more towards mature gamers - not that the story line is really all that outstanding - but which games are??? It's close, personnel, combat in an open world sandbox, and that's what's really great about it. The save system however is it's main drawback, but once you understand how it works (i.e., what happens when you wish to exit the game), it's manageable.
