From Flanker6 in the Far Cry Gaming section: Now where would one find NPC encounters and their spawn distance in FC4? This sounds like it could be a pretty decent mod! Some belated input. The increased NPC encounters was one of the best tweaks I ever made to FC 3. I got the idea from I think it was called Mega Island mod at Nexus. I DLed a copy of that and unpacked it, found where the NPC encounters were (separate entries for humans and animal NPCs), and compared what the MI mod author had in that to what the default was in my FC 3 Frankenmod (which by that point was parts of at least 4 other mod compendiums)---not sure if the "encounter rate" in my Frankenmod was the vanilla FC 3 rate, or what one of the 4 compendium authors had in their mod. Anyway.............my Frankenmod's rate had a numerical value of 10.................Mega Island a value of 100. OooooKkkkaaaaaayyyyy.....................100 sounded a bit manly for my tastes, and the MI author admitted his mod tended to lug many systems down. So I edited my 10 to a 25. And, all I adjusted was the human NPC value, leaving the animal NPCs at 10. I'm just guessing, but if you cranked up the animal encounters (don't even know if this is possible with 4's file structure and code) in FC 4........................the "eagle thing" would be REALLY ugly! LOL! On my system...............the extra friendly and enemy NPC encounter rate was perfect (not only did I encounter them more frequently but once contact with enemy NPCs was made---they definitely reinforced more quickly and heavily [don't know why] than at that 10 encounter level I started at. Made the islands and "state" of Rakyat vs Pirate/Merc warfare feel much more realistic. And for those who like the more hardcore aspects of gaming...................it definitely forced me into a more tactical outlook, as I'd tweaked all the weapons similar to Bontainer's system, and the NPCs had them as well. Unlike in Rambo and Tarzan.................jumping on 10 enemies is a career ender! I needed to "plot" my mayhem, time frame to execute, and egress route if necessary, and replay a lot anyway. As far as difficulty settings go. An "easy" approach to "harder" difficulty is to NOT craft (FC 4) more than the first holster. Play through with 1 side arm and 1 long arm. REAL men use an SP 9 and a bow! LOL! Don't craft more than the south levels ammo pouches (which are ridiculously high on pistol and nade launcher ammo--what can I say). Don't use ANY serums. Stay with the first level holsters and bags for everything except the second holster and third ammo level. Use only NON SERUM first aid, and fist aid serums you pick up. Don't increase your health level beyond the initial two bars. REAL MEN jump on Rhinos from trees with only a knife clenched between their teeth! The downside is...................................they only do it once!

Found a bug. I still play with your FC4E_Hardcore_020_6_1_1_REV mod. For me still thé mod! If I finish an Outpost Master on any outpost, in stead of showing me the results, the screen turns black and stays that way. I still can hear the game audio, so there is no game freeze. When I press the right mouse button, I even see the (luminated) reticle of the gun I hold. That’s it. To leave this blackness I only can press the Escape button and choose Restart Outpost Master or leave to return to the game. After that the game works normal. When I restart the Outpost Master, again a black screen appears when I finish this quest.
I've contacted Ubisoft for this, but they cannot give me a solution.
In the meantime I did a gamefile check within the app Uplay. The app told me that it found some 'corrupted' files and after this check it downloaded allmost 2 GB of data. I guess the app found the downgraded 1.9 update and the modded files. After the update your mod was gone, the game was set to vanilla and I did a Outpost Master check. And guess what? Outpost Master worked fine! So I guess the mod or the downgraded 1.9 patch is the source of this error.
But I defenately don't want to play vanilla. So my question to you: Do you have any idea what causes this bug and is it perhaps fixable?

Forgot to mention: When I downgrade patch 1.9 back to 1.8 and activate the mod, the problem is there again.

Update: I've uninstalled FC4 and reinstalled again. Same problem: In vanilla the Outpost Master works great, but after I downgraded patch 1.9 to 1.8 and installed the mod, the problem appears again.

Sorry this has been an ongoing thing for you I honestly have no earthly idea why just Outpost Master would be affected... you don't have this issue when you clear a regular outpost in the course of normal gameplay? If not then it's obviously associated with that "end of round" style screen that shows after you complete Outpost Master. It sounds graphical in nature, but I can't think what graphic would be causing it in only that screen. Dunno maybe it's a flash thing. Not sure why it would be just that one particular thing though. I'm honestly stumped.

Yeah bummer!
Facts: - Liberating an outpost for the first time is no problem. This issue occurs only with the quest Outpost Master. - My daughter plays on her laptop with exactly the same settings. She has also the Outpost Master issue.
Are we the only one with this problem?
In the meantime I’ve uninstalled FC4 again. In stead of downloading the game through Uplay I’ve decided to install the game from the DVD’s. Why? The downloaded game is version 1.10. De DVD-version is 1.1.0. In this way I don’t have to downgrade the game to 1.8. (Assuming this is causing the issue.) I have this thought because I know someone who has a pirated version of FC4 which he has manually updated to version 1.8. He has no problem with Outpost Master. So after the DVD installation I’ve manually updated the game with patch 1.8 from your site and then ‘injected’ the game with FC4E. But when I want to go online I get the message that I have to update the game. I can only play online after this update. This doesn’t work.

Final update.
I’ve reinstalled a fresh Windows 10, updated all hardware drivers to the latest version. Installed FC4 via DVD, updated via uPlay to version 1.10.0. Downgraded the game to 1.8.0. Added FC4E. I did an Outpost Master and again a black screen after completing the quest. I guess I have to live with this.

I was wondering if this was still a "live" thread, and if there was any interest in moving FC4E up to comply with FC4 v 1.10.0?
