I am modding the far cry series since so long ago, but there are still some files I cant modify. For changing visual stuff, it would be nice to be able to modify the *.material.bin files. Therefor, I am looking into those files and I am creating this thread, so maybe other people can help to. The first 3 bytes (54 41 4d / TAM) are always the same, no matter if you have a look into the files from FC3, FC4 or FCP. Every file shows also another 3 bytes (34 58 77 / 4XW) near the end of every file. > Left: FC3 | Mid: FC4 | Right: FCPI asked some friends and I was searching the web. I found out, that it should be a file which will be loaded into another modeling software (like Cinema4D). Each file should define a material for specific textures. Sadly, I can't find any solution for this - even with old or a new python script I can't decrypt the files in a good readable way. Also, I am not able to find a modeling tool which can load those material.bin files (I am also not the modeling specialist, soooo...) Does anyone has any ideas or knows a tool which can load those files? It would also nice to know, if you tryed something allready, what does work / not work.
