Hi,
I'm looking to incorporate a couple of aspects of the Nightmare mod into vanilla. This is due to me being picky and also some issues I noticed with Nightmare and my FC4.
I recognise it's probably easier to include files already modified than try to delve into modifying stuff myself, beyond potentially easy stuff like shop prices etc.
With that in mind, I humbly ask whether you can provide any help/advice on how to do this? I was fairly confident with unpacking FC3 files with dunia tools etc, but they don't seem to be working with FC4 and what does unpack makes no sense to my puny brain!
What I'd like to include:
The crafting, bait only from rhinos was cool too. Tougher enemies, but the accuracy was overkill on Hard so it became too whack-a-mole (with me as the mole!) - I have some files from a different mod that says they are comparable to FC3 Ziggy's mod damage.
More expensive items/guns etc, probably 3x as vanilla, maybe more.
Not being able to see enemies through walls. This made it far too easy, and hunting syringe on constant.
Syringe crafting: making it harder to achieve (white flowers for hunting syringe) perhaps even harder than Nightmare.
The bow killing people with one shot to the hand/foot/eyelash etc. Seriously, how is that bow so powerful? A good body or head shot, ok, but I've literally nicked someone's little finger and they fell over without a peep. Anyway to change this?
New/modified weapons & More recoil for guns. I'd like to clarify though: I like the weapons handling but some, like 1911 were insta-kill with zero recoil.
Tougher animals, though I get annoyed with those blasted dholes. In the far cry universe a pack of dogs is one of the deadliest weapons known to man.
I loved the crazy extended recoil with the Nitro 700, it kept roughly steady immediately after the first shot but then wobbled way off, actually really liked that.
Not fussed about:
Not fussed with the unlocks, though I enjoyed the escalating unlocks, I think this will be tough for me to implement and could screw with the game a bit? Happy to include if quite easy though
Not being able to buy ammo - I'd like super expensive ammo, or able to only buy the basics, though not being able to buy any was pretty good.
No GL...it's massively over-powered, accurate, quick to reload, so I just choose not to use it in general.
No fast travel. At first it's really good, immersive, later on it becomes a right pain, when you clear all enemies & outposts and you just have to jeep-sim from place to place. Is there a way to choose which fast travel spots are active? Some I'd like to keep, the major hubs, no outposts though.
No prompts - I can't tell if my car is following the road, the objective, or what, and it keeps stopping!
Unlocked North, I am fine with it staying locked until opened up by campaign missions,.
Problems I noticed in Nightmare:
Season Pass / Special missions (with the big yellow star on the map, one was Blood Ruby I think) didn't seem to appear - pretty sure my Hurk ones didn't either but not definite. Any suggestions re: these?
1911 with red dot was instakill laser-gun. No recoil, killed with 1 shot 90% of the time, perfect accuracy.
Skorpion SMG could no longer be assigned as handgun, though I believe this was deliberate, it's a rubbish gun anyway, 1911 is way better!
If you can be of any assisstance with this I would be much obliged.
I like to tinker with games more than I play them if I'm honest but my knowledge is all self-taught and extrmeely patchy.
If you can give any guidance of how to explore and edit things like weapon unlocks, etc
If all goes well and I pull it together and it works ok, I mightstick it up on Nexus and give full credit to all involved (none to me, I'm just a middle man) if you are ok with that.
