Hat tip to Steve64b for pointing me to this image from Ubisoft which details the Hurk Pack and Knight Pack for the deluxe edition of the game.

This was all gleaned from the Ubisoft official site, what few articles I could find and scouring every video frame by frame (literally) Far Cry New DawnRelease Date: 2/15/19 Cost: $39.99 for the standard game or $49.99 for the "deluxe" edition. Deluxe edition includes:Base Game + "Hurk Legacy Pack" (The Wrath M249 a specially skinned M249 LMG and the Legacy Outrider a specially skinned jeep), Knight Pack (the SVD Claymore a specially skinned SVD and a motorcycle with attached sidecar), "Blast Off" RAT4 rocket launcher skin and Retro SCI-FI skin for the M133 shotgun. Modes:Single player story missions. ( This article says the entire game can be played COOP, but like FC5 only the host gets story progression) COOP player "expeditions" (though you can play them solo if you like) NO MULTIPLAYER NO MAP EDITOR Quotes From the developers:- "Far Cry New Dawn is the direct narrative sequel to Far Cry 5 in the sense that we are coming back to Hope County 17 years later"
- "The player is a new player character coming to Hope County for the first time." (we are NOT the Rook)
- "Boomer is dead."
New Features:- "Epic Boss Animal" fights (this is probably along the lines of the bliss infected animal quests from FC5)
- Home Base called "Prosperity" that you can improve and build. Has eight facilities: the workbench, training camp (to train Guns for Hire), explosives lab, infirmary, garage, healing garden, cartography, and expeditions (to go on mission outside of Hope County).
Not 100% sure, but it looks like Prosperity is to the far south west of John's region roughly where "Seed ranch" was located which is in the vicinity of Nick Rye's old place and Lamb of God Church (where you first met Grace Armstrong)... though from the map shown I don't think either of those places still exist (or they are in ruins) - Kicking in doors. (Technically you can kick since Far Cry 4 by simply looking down and hitting melee but there seems to be a strong implementation of it in New Dawn where you are required to destroy glass and wood barriers to get through some areas)
- Kids confirmed (in Far Cry 5 there was a conspicuous absence of children).
- Mission outside of Hope County are available to "memorable locations across the USA including wetlands, canyons, and coastal regions". One area shown is "Five Stars Theme Park" in Lousiana (Far Cry'answer to Six Flags?)
Two additional locations mentioned in another article are a decrepit Navajo Bridge littered with abandoned cars in Arizona, and the infamous Alcatraz prison situated on a rocky island. Also a youtuber commented that there was a mission aboard a "big ship" so possibly another of the coastal locations.
"Creative Director Jean-Sébastien Decant wouldn’t reveal how many expeditions would appear in Far Cry New Dawn, but he’s adamant that there will be quite a few."
The locations can be revisited and "level up" with up to 3 difficulty levels. There is also apparently some randomization of enemies, loot and extraction points each time they are played. - Mission progression no longer moves the story forward instead upgrading your homebase progresses the story. So now we will have more control of how fast we want to play through the game.
- Return of the Knife Takedowns!
- Respawning Bases that get harder (they have 3 levels of difficulty)
- Supposedly no more kidnappings (thank the Father!)
- Third Person view of the character as you enter your home base.
- Trike (probably just replaces the tuk-tuk) and a motorcycle with a sidecar (so Doge can ride along). So we are "kind of" finally getting a motorcycle...
- Weapons are all "signature weapons" in that the attachments are already set on them. They can be replaced by more powerful versions. This means you can't buy specific attachments for weapons (silencers, specific scopes, etc).
Melee Weapons:- Fists
- Baseball Bat (called Old Wood Bat in crafting menu)
- Knife (with Takedowns!)
- Pipe (both Makeshift Bolted Pipe and Optimized Socked Pipe are seen in game crafting menu)
- Shovel (called "Nailed It" Shovel in crafting menu)
- Steel Baseball Bat (called Optimized Steel Bat in crafting menu)
Throwables:- Bait
- C4
- Dynamite
- Molotovs
- Remote Explosives
- Smoke Grenades
- Throwing Knives
Launchers:- M-79
- RAT4 (the deluxe edition comes with a special skin for the RAT4 called "Blast Off")
- RPG
Special Weapons & Gear:- Bow - a bow is seen in the players hands in a still shot from the game and the mysterious masked stranger carries a bow.
- Parachute
- Repair Torch
- Ziplines (and shooting one handed while on them of course)
Guns:- .44 Magnum (called "Guerilla-Gear" .44 MAGNUM in crafting menu)
- 1887 (shown with a makeshift steak knife mounted on it as a bayonet)
- 1911 (the M1911 is seen being held by various characters in the trailers and also on the cover of the game)
- A-99 (A-99 is seen in the players hand in one still shot of the game)
- A.J.M. 9 automatic pistol (AJM 9 is seen in the crafting menu as Optimized A.J.M. 9)
- AKMS assault rifle (seen in crafting menu)
- AR-C assault rifle (seen in multiple characters hands during trailers and gameplay footage)
- D50 (aka the Deagle - seen in crafting menu)
- Double Barrel Shotgun
- Flamethrower
- M133 shotgun (the deluxe edition comes with a special skin scifi retro skin for the M133)
- M249 LMG ("Hurk Pack" deluxe edition contains a special skinned M249 called the WRATH. There are also M249's called "Gardener's Fury" and "Graffiti")
- MBP .50 sniper rifle (called Makeshift MBP .50 in crafting menu)
- MP5 SMG (called Optimized MP5SD in crafting menu)
- MP7 SMG (a Highwayman is seen holding one in the trailer)
- MS16
- P08 (aka the Luger - seen in crafting menu)
- Saw Launcher V.1 (a buzzsaw blade chucking crossbow - can be uprgaded to V.2 which chucks 3 blades at a time)
- Skorpion SMG
- SMG-11 (aka the MAC-10 - seen in crafting menu)
- SVD ("Knight Pack" deluxe edition contains a special skinned SVD called the CLAYMORE)
- Vector .45 ACP
Pick ups:- Animal Skins
- Blasting Caps?
- Components
- Duct Tape
- Ethanol
- Perk Magazines
- Plant parts (leaves, flowers, etc)
Animals:- Big Cat (cougar? mutated) as seen in this article
- Bison (mutated)
- Butterflies
- Chicken
- Dog(s) both friendly and enemy attack dogs
- Humming Birds
- Squirrels (spotted one diving out of the way of oncoming cars in a trailer)
- White Albino Deer / Stags
- Wild Boar
- Wolverines
Characters:- Carmina Rye - Gun for Hire (Nick and Kim Rye's Daughter now all grown up... she is an assaulter who can also throw dynamite. Note "Carmina" was the name of Nick's plane - his other love)
- Gian Guerra - Gun for Hire (a heavy gunner - has unlimited ammo and explosive ammo)
- Horatio the boar - Fang for Hire (aka "Cheesburger 2.0" - a huge wild boar)
- Hurk - Gun for Hire (is Hurk immortal? Does this kid ever age? Are there a lineage of Hurks? Hurk clones? Hurklings?)
- Irwin Smalls - an NPC you meet who is a Highwayman. He has you fight in a local arena called "the pit".
- Mickey and Lou - The twin leaders of the Highwaymen who are the evil raiders trying to take over Hope County.
- Mysterious Masked Stranger - Gun for Hire (no idea who this is or what their official name is yet - my personal theory is this is actually the Rook from Far Cry 5 hiding his/her identity from everyone... although they carry a bow so it does fit Jess Black very well too or it could be Grace Armstrong or even someone altogether new)
- Nana - Guns for Hire sniper (a sniper - she has silent weapons and her shots can pierce through cover. She looks like an older version of Hurk's mom Adelaide Drubman or possibly Mary May though Mary May would be middle aged and not an old woman... could be another character or a new one altogether)
- Nick Rye - possibly appears. His image is seen in some preview art and there is a scruffy fellow who looks a bit like Nick seen in the trailer defending an outpost.
- Pastor Jerome - Gun for Hire (wonder what he thinks about religion now... and about the Father's prophesies)
- Roger Cadoret - a helicopter pilot from Quebec who carries you and your guns/fangs for hire out to various expedition side missions (presumably you need to build the expeditions addon for your base). His Heli is named Grosse Patate (The Big Potato).
- Timber - Fang for Hire (aka Doge aka "Boomer 2.0"). Just like Boomer he can tag enemies, retrieve guns and loot and intercept animals who are trying to attack you.
Vehicles:- 3 Wheeled Trikes (preordering the game will net you an exclusive "Unicorn Trike" skin (barf).
- Compact and standard cars (Stryus)
- Helicopter (H-158) - Roger Cadoret pilots one. No idea yet if helicopters (or ANY air vehicles) are available to the players or enemies.
- Motorcycle with sidecar
- Muscle car
- Pick up trucks
- Sedans (Darrala)
- Semi Trucks (only the "Big Rig" cabs shown so far not the whole 18 wheeler trailer)
- SUVs
- Trucks - heavy converted "box" trucks, flatbeds and tanker trucks (one varient has a ramp frame on it the Highway men use to scale an outpost wall)
- Quad ATVs

This article on gamerant.com talks about a few more aspects of the game. Bullet sponge animals? Gee... what a novel concept... never saw them do that in a previous Far Cry game (/ sarcasm) gamerant.com/far-cry-new-dawn-boss-battle/

From the youtube description: Seventeen years after a global nuclear catastrophe, civilization re-emerges from the chaos to find a world dramatically changed. In a post-apocalyptic Hope County, Montana, the remaining populace has gathered into different groups, each with their own rules for survival. In this new world order, the vicious Highwaymen, led by twin sisters Mickey and Lou, travel from place to place bleeding people dry of all available resources. As the Survivors try to defend their lands against the Highwaymen’s relentless onslaught, it’s up to you to come to their aid and lead the fight. In the latest installment of the award-winning Far Cry franchise, you are the last line of defense in a transformed, post-apocalyptic Hope County. Help the community of Survivors grow stronger, craft a makeshift arsenal through Turf Wars and cross-country Expeditions, and form unexpected alliances to fight for survival in a dangerous new frontier. Key Features: FIGHT FOR SURVIVAL IN A BREATHTAKING POST-APOCALYPTIC WORLD- Sprawling superbloom fields and dense overgrowth invite you into a wildly beautiful yet deadly post-apocalyptic landscape, to discover on your own or with a friend in two player co-op.
- Wildlife has not gone untouched by the disaster, with some predators evolving rugged natural defenses.
UNFORGETTABLE CHARACTERS COLLIDE WITH A RELENTLESS DOUBLE THREAT- Clash with the brutal Highwaymen and their unruly leaders Mickey and Lou. Known as The Twins, these sisters combine brains and brawn to give their army an iron grip on Hope County’s precious resources.
- Recruit an eclectic cast of Guns and Fangs for Hire to fight by your side. These new allies, as well as some familiar faces, each bring unique and critical skills to the fray.
- Find the former doomsday cult and seek out the charismatic leader who prophesized the collapse of civilization: Joseph Seed.
GROW THE SURVIVORS TO BUILD UP YOUR HOMEBASE- Specialists join the Survivors to help you craft weapons and vehicles, train your Guns for Hire, and even go on Expeditions from the eight Homebase facilities: the workbench, training camp, explosives lab, infirmary, garage, healing garden, cartography, and expeditions.
- Grow your community and upgrade your Homebase to improve your facilities and unlock more powerful weapons and gear.
BATTLE FOR RESOURCES IN HOPE COUNTY AND BEYOND- Engage the Highwaymen in Turf Wars by clearing their outposts and then scavenging them for Ethanol and other materials. When the Highwaymen return with stronger reinforcements, you can take on a greater challenge for even more of these valuable resources.
- For the first time in Far Cry, the adventure is not just local. Venture outside of Hope County on thrilling Expeditions to unique and memorable locations across the USA including wetlands, canyons, and coastal regions.
- Expeditions and Outposts are different every playthrough, for rewarding missions that increase in challenge and are surprising every time.

OK so our next Far Cry is basically a post apocalyptic sequel to Far Cry 5 (with even the Father teased at the end of the trailer). Presumably this will adress all of us hating the ending of the last game... Mixed feelings on this. TBH this looks like Far Cry 5's "Blood Dragon" a mini Far Cry game probably of the scope of Blood Dragon or Primal. It's our "gap game" between 5 and whatever / whenever 6 will come about. SRP is $39.99 for the standard game and $49.99 for the "deluxe" edition. Deluxe edition includes: Base Game + "Hurk Legacy Pack" (see reply below), Knight Pack (see reply below), "Blast Off" RAT4 skin and Retro SCI-FI M133M Skin. Preorder either edition to get the exclusive "Unicorn Trike Skin" (it's adorned with rainbows and pink bits... sigh... Ubisoft.. smh) LINK to Ubisoft official page - store.ubi.com/us/far-cry-new-dawn/5bf319696b54a4ddc91e8843.html

Thanks man. It's been a few months now and I'm getting along... as well as I can. Health wise I'm doing ok... well at least I FEEL ok LOL. I need to see a new doctor (I moved) and have my blood work done again and see where I'm at. Mentally and physically I feel a bit better where I am then where I was when I posted the above, but I'm still struggling with lots of other crap (aren't we all???). Indeed to be young again. To turn back the clock and have so many things to do over. Sigh. PS - I'm still to this day using the very same power supply you gifted me from "so many moons ago" (LOL it feels like a million years even though it's probably only been 2 or 3) so THANK YOU man. It's survived quite a lot that the rest of my PC hasn't

I also need help on this: My default patch_hd file contained no useful files, I needed the crafting file. SO I decided to unpack the fcc_main, common, patch.fat files. while unpacking, the program throws an error saying "the file name is too long" or some such, and the unpacking of the .fat file stops. I need help with either the unpacking process or the crafting file.
Try to make a short directory name on your C drive like C:\fc4\ and put gibs tools AND the .fat / .dat files in there and try extracting to that directory. Basically you want to make the file paths as short as humanly possible both on where the files are unpacking from as well as where they are unpacking too.

Can someone tell me how to mod body armour in Far Cry 4 so that animal attacks do not damage it ?? I'm sick and tired of buying armour in the store only to lose half of it in a random wild animal encounter. Thanks in advance!!
There is a body armor file, but it's one of those unnamed files in /__unknown/ alas I do not know the name of it nor if it works against animals for that matter... though I do believe it may be possible since I had sometime in the past wanted to try this very thing...
